this was quite the surprise of having the western Maryland j1 potomac northern's added (i first heard of them from the top 15 extinct American steam locomotives video some engines from the video i know about and some i don't know or never heard of and the j1 potomac's are one of them i never knew about) i just wonder why none of them were saved for preservation they look like interesting engines (and i bet it might of been a sight seeing the potomac's double heading with the wm challenger's)

Western Maryland was anti steam and wanted to get rid of them ASAP to copy Southern's strategy of looking like a "modern railroad". Steam on the WM died in 1954. Only two original WM engines made it to retirement, a 4-6-2 K2 Pacific on display in Hagerstown, MD and Cass Scenic Railroad's Number 5 Shay, largest of its kind and AFAIK the only Shay adopted by a Class 1 railroad. WM 834 is a clone originally from a Michigan railroad that adopted the same Consolidation type.

Great job as always K&L you really out did your self. This is a Great Locomotive that you done. I've always thought you guys as bringing back history. Its like you when and take a Steam Locomotive from the scrapyard and brought it back to life. This just adds to how amazing your locomotives are. Keep up the great work.

Sometimes you gotta look at it from a railroad’s perspective. By the late 50s, all railroads were succumbed in debt. Most railroads merged, but it wasn’t enough. For a lot of railroads, scrapping their equipment was a lot more beneficial than just preserving them. For the Western Maryland, it was easy to scrap them and get the money from the buyers for metal. There are a couple of WM locomotives in preservation (not counting 734 because she is a modified consolidation), but most of their equipment and shops had to be sold for money.

Engineer Skalinera but, there’s nothing to learn from the T1 we don’t already know. Besides, the production ones (which the 5550 is based on) were failures. Besides, we have no operational freight northerns around, the 2102 will come back soon though. The point is these were actually successful. We should be producing engines that were either successful, or record breakers. Like the Reading 2-8-0s, or the Pennsy I1s.

the WM J1 will probably not be coming to TS19, I actually prefer trainz over TS19 because I can get more content for trainz for free, and trainz has some good content creaters like K&L
