In Part 2 Premiere of the Big U series Joe Rocchead from Santana Blocc Compton Crips and Founder of I-Can Foundation walks in on Big U during the middle of conversation about Mens Central Jail in Downtown Los Angeles where these two first met in 4800 Crip Module during the 1980s. The respect these two display for one another is amazing but to understand how far these individuals have come with their own organizations is more impressive.

@@bigmanz1000 that's what's interesting to me is how all the different cliques from the 60s united and becamr one. Big Cat did drop some Jewels and laced us with some dope history and l loved it. Quietly any insight and history on the 60s is treasured. I do wish you all the best and have a great weekend. Peace!!!

Maaan, it felt good to see Big U smile when Rocchead was acknowlegding his growth, people can talk down on the past, but the reality is that we are all here now witnessing the redemption of a people within a culture, and it's these type brothers that can show those who seek safe passage to the way out, I truly believe that whichever way LA goes, so goes the black men of America in general, ...A1 series Team KMV!

Wow, OG Andre is a real reputable guy. Don't know him but he just add a pinch of some realness. If you noticed, he corrected the interviewer referencing Big U's family as a "gang", and preferred them to a "team". He then opted not to mention names of guys who were the first identifiable 60s. Felt that stand-up never fold energy from him regardless of the platform. This guy needs to be a featured guest.

Big U mentioned my city Baton Rouge where he set up shop at one time. Back in the 80s in Southside BR, there was a gang called The Southside Wrecking Crew who claimed Crip. I wonder if he had his hand in that. One of the most notorious killers from BR at the time is named Silky Slim is from south BR. He moved to L.A. in his teenage years and came back repping Harlem 30s (Rolling 30s). He does a lot for the black community in B R. now.

First of all, shout out to Kev Mac for bringing us these top notch, intriguing, interesting, interviews. Second of all, at times I see a lot of dudes hating on Hannibal. Hannibal and baby crazo was my next door neighbor in Ironwood around the year 2000. Hannibal was a cool, and Karen dude who always try to keep the peace among blacks, as much as one could in prison considering it's gang-related politics, and all. I specifically remember him spearheading and organizing a men's day where all the brothers regardless of hoods affiliation etc etc came together on the yard we had one big giant meal prepared by each building, sodas, lots of food fun basketball and all. So much respect and shout out to Hannibal keep doing your thang!!!

big u is telling the truth about his Minneapolis journey i was around for all of that. the 60's and the gardena shotgun's came up here and locked it down putting the Chicago gangs on the sidelines. all facts. the 60's are still deep in Saint Paul and the Shotgun's are heavy in Minneapolis. i wrote a book about my coming up in hip-hop and mentioned these facts in it. it was a goldmine back then and it basically turned the cities out. thank you for this interview because we were becoming active before most cities who caught the vapors later on. #history

When it comes to Crips 60’s to be exact in Saint Paul majority of the ppl that rep gangs that originated from Chicago are ppl that moved from the Chi to Saint Paul most of our residents who’s born n raised in Saint Paul are either pushing 60’s or Red rags u gone see some BD’s an GD’s ova East tho

I'm not a Blood or a Cuz. Growing up in NYC, my era was the crews and possees of the early 1980s to the early 90s - Decepticons, Zulu Nation, Ballbusters, Boys Most Wanted, Brooklyn's Most Wanted, A-Teem (Allah Team), Supreme Team, M.G.P (Mean Guy Possee), Untouchables, Shower Possee, and a gang of brothers down with the 5 Percent Nation across the 5 boroughs (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Manhattan-Harlem, and Staten Island (Shaolin). I used to live in Los Angeles, and the area was populated by Mansfield Gangster Crips - Labrea and Pico area by Roscoes. I met Big U on Crenshaw by way of a gang interventionist and former F.O.I (Fruit of Islam brother). Big U is the real deal and he is also a solid Muslim brother. I can't wait for this interview with Big U and Rocchead, as I know it's going to be fire!!!!! Salute to Kev Mac all the way from Brooklyn, New York!!!! P..S. Kev Mac, you should do some research on why the UBN exploded on the scene in New York jails, then prisons back 1993. A lot of had to do with the 5 Percenters not being organized and being whipped on by the Latin Kings. The UBN gave a lot Black prisoners some structure and identity to unite under, outside of the Muslims (Sunni and Nation of Islam). In 5 years, they became the largest prison gang in New York State, overtaking the Latin Kings. Just some food for thought. Peace.
