You would really have to look up the definition of R&B. In my opinion, a lot of today's music is too centered around sex and even though R&B, including older R&B, involves sex, it shouldn't be centered around it. Most of it lacks love, adoration, life lessons, or even shedding light on world problems. You also have to look at talent and image when evaluating this. Yeah, I'm one of those people that feel that older music was more meaningful and had better artists. However, it doesn't mean that I don't admire some of today's artists who have kept R&B going by not conforming to today's perception of R&B.
