K&N Motorcycle Oil Filter Review

Had two K&N motorcycle filters replaced for free last year. They had a recall on them for the weld nut. Possible failure at the weld causing sudden oil pressure loss during operation. We were definitely impressed by them standing behind their products.

If you fried your engine do to loss of pressure I wonder if K&N would have replaced your engine.

20w50 amsoil in my Harley. I use the k&n filter

Brother i have honda cbr600rr. I used total 10w 40 synthetic oil in my bike. I change the oil after 1500km. Can i use this filter upto 3rd oil change. 1500(new filterr) +1500+1500=4500 Because these filters are in thousands of rupees in our country??? Or should i use my oil for more km??? Kindly reply me....m too worried for it

2nd comment is: Some says that use your oil for more kilometers.. I rarely ride that bike...once in a week..i can not complete 1500km even in 6 months... How often i should change oil??? After 4 months? Or 6 months?

It all depends on how you ride, if you are using a fully synthetic then you can increase the oil change interval to 3k or 4k kms. If you are riding hard and rough,high revving, plus stop and go traffic then change as you do now.

do these new ones come with the canister? because with my suzuki lt125 the canister wont fit I ordered these a couple years ago from K&N and the never used to come with the canister

My motorcycle requires 19ft lb torque. When I used the nut to install it it it developed a leak. How will I achieve the torque without using the nut? I try using a cup but the surface is too smooth. Thank you

Hand tight is usually all it takes.The nut should be for removal only.But some leak at the nut anyway.You are playing Russian Roulette if you ride a bike with K&N filter with a nut on the bottom.
