What do you think of these results from the K&N oil catch can on my Silverado 5.3? How do they compare to yours? FYI, you can get this catch can here: amzn.to/3vzwzxo Buy my used one here: www.ebay.com/itm/186579786370

Don’t do 7,500 mile oil change intervals, that’s just asking for those lifters to fail, 3k-4k oil changes are necessary in these 5.3’s to keep those lifters clean

And before anyone says “but the manufacturer knows best” clearly not when lifter failure is super common in Chevy v8’s for the past 20 years. Ask any mechanic and they will tell you to never go that long on an oil change, oil is cheaper than a motor….

Is it common for my passenger side hose connector threads that has Teflon tape on it to be oily? Color change? It’s not white like how the Teflon tape use to be. Do I need to make the connection tighter? No oil is leaking tho. Just the Teflon tape is oily color

Perfectly normal in my experience. Mine ended up like that too. It's also just airborne oil and grime in the engine bay that ends up on that white tape so it's easily visible. If it were leaking or the connection wasn't tight enough, you'd hear air hissing out.
