K&N Washable Filters

Washable are cleaners with soap and water it works fine you don't need the cleaning kit.

Thanks for showing this as an alternative to the K&N cleaner/recharger, which warns about the corrosiveness and flammability of using their product. As far as an alternative to using K&N's spray oil, I've read on another posting where an auto technician analyzed the oil and found that it's common automatic transmission fluid.

Holy crap dude! That’s enough soap to wash 5,000 filters. Dawn is really strong. You don’t need much more than a tablespoon-full.

He knows nothing about soap or how it works. I wouldn't wash both filters in the same water. I would put a few drops of liquid soap and warm water into a spray bottle, spray both sides of each filter, wait 10 minutes, rinse and repeat 2 times, the rinse them thoroughly with a garden hose and let them dry.
