Even though Hongjoong and Mingi are the official rappers, Seongwha auditioned to KQ as a rapper, but debuted as a vocalist. We have had the opportunity to see Seongwha rap on several songs, but this is the first time we've seen him rap like this. When they paired them for a uniit the company suggested they do a ballad, but Seongwha wanted to rap so we got this anthem. Honestly in my eyes Seongwha is an official rapper. MATZ is a shorter version of a Korean word for older brother. Seongwha is the eldest in Ateez and Hongjoong is like 7 months younger. They are the parents of Ateez and have an amazing friendship since they rely on each other so much. It's You is my fave on the album and it really lets Yeosang and Wooyoung shine since they don't get many parts in their older songs. I love having the three of them together and obviously they ate the choreography as well as the vocals. I can't wait for the other unit song from Mingi and Yunho and the last our main vocalist and maknae (youngest) Jongho has a solo.

Seonghwa 100% should be considered an official member of Ateez' rap line now. He has rapped on SO MANY different occasions throughout their career, filling in for Mingi when he was on hiatus, getting WILD on the Bouncy album and now with the latest album. He's been steadily approaching this moment, seized every opportunity to rap that he got and I'm so, so incredibly proud of his hard work, especially since we already saw what he envisioned his rap persona to be in 'Dreamers' and now he's living his dream! ❤

Matz has a pretty deep meaning to it, it's aimed at all the crazy, toxic fans who pay for their cell numbers and then call them during lives, that's what Seongwha refers to when he mentions the different currencies. The opening scene where a GPS is put under a van refers to when a crazy fan placed a GPS on the groups Kia Carnival. Hongjoong said that he and Seongwha went through over 400 sound files to make Matz. Thank you for the reaction.

The story behind IT’s YOU is the story of how the 3 of them (Wooyoung, San and Yeosang) meet became friends and supported each other. There is a lot of metaphors that only a old atiny or one that knows about the story of ateez know. A quick summary: Yeosang (the second one that appear) who was struggling leave the company he was in (Hype formerly Big Hit) with Wooyoung (the first one that appear) and goes to kq. On the song it starts from when Yeosang shows Wooyoung (that is struggling in hype) how he is doing in KQ and Wooyoung join KQ too so he can follow his dream and get over his fear of stage frightening, there Wooyoung meets San who was struggling with low self-esteem and the 3 of them help each other to overcome their struggles and insecurities. All the members are close but the unit songs are basically made by putting together the closest members. Like Matz the elders of the group and YeoWooSan aka B.O.S the 3 best friends. There is also the song Youth that is YunGi (Yunho and Mingi) song that talks about them both and how Yunho is the person Mingi relays the most 🥹

For MVs with different/slower/brighter concepts: Utopia - mid tempo, vocals on showcase (the MV is in Japanese) Turbulence - slower, beautiful lyrics Eternal Sunshine - brightest mfing MV Ateez has, mid tempo and poppy The Real - Completely unique song, MV is also unique; can hear some of the members speaking in their own Korean dialects. Other suggestions if you want to do some live performances: Take Me Home - There is a stage version from their DVD where they are in front of mirrors… it is amazing! Silver Light - Off the new album. No performance of this yet, so a lyric video would have to do (Cyberpunk, Take Me Home, and Silver Light are all synth wave songs and are my favorite songs from all the albums) Dreamy Day - Off the new album.
