As a BTS fan, I agree that Dynamite is a catchy song. Indeed it is. But their 3 English pandemic songs are - in my opinion - the least useful to appreciate and understand BTS. Nothing against them, and maybe good to break the ice with an English speaking public. But they have very little to do with their real music production. They write their own lyrics and music (with few exceptions), and tbh I prefer their songs in Korean. They have such a variety of genres, beats, subjects... Great title tracks and amazing b-sides. Great studio versions and mindblowing live performances. Heavenly vocal line, powerful rap line, incredible harmonizations all together. Fantastic group songs and absolutely amazing solo works. You will see....

I recommended listening to Mic Drop,Black Swan,Idol,Fake Love,Permission to dance,ON (the kinematic one),Butter and Save me. They also have amazing live performances like the 2019 MMAS. Suga is a member of BTS,he goes by the name of Agust D when solo,you should listen to his songs Agust D and Daechwita.There is also a guide to the members by Taylor Mari if you really like their music and want to get to know the members more .💜

@@sleazejustin this song is one of the 3 songs (I believe) completely in English. It is more mainstream and not really a representation of their repertoir (mostly Korean songs with some English lyrics). You'll need subtitles (most of the official music video's have English subtitles - only the very early ones don't). Practically all BTS's songs have a deeper meaning. There are even explanation videos for most of the songs. The KZbin channels dkdtv (English explanation by a Korean - he also explains some of the cultural references in some songs - and bookistherories (for the ones that the first channel doesn't has) cover most of them.

Some other BTS content I recommend is BTS Festa Live 2021, Black Swan MV, Let Go Live, Zero o clock live, Outro Tear, Autumn Leaves, DNA MV, Could You Turn off your Cellphone. All of the members have solo songs as well. Their names are RM, Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, V, Suga(Agust D), Jhope

Oh well the rabbit hole is deep and they don't confined themselves to one Genre of music as 3 of them are from the underground Hip Hop scene 2 as Rappers (one of which was also a Producer and still is) and the 3rd as a dancer with a street dance crew Neuron. They are based in Rap and R & B but the do whatever they like as the 7 of them have similar music tastes and also differing music tastes. They are 7 Solo Artists that's 7 Song Writers, 7 Composers, 7 Producers and 7 musicians. Suga (aka Agust D) is also Produces for other artists in other companies. This is a very pop track they did 3 in Covid to cheer people up.

Yes you did react to RM he is the leader of BTS. This is not the song I would recommend to a first-time listener because it is what you assume BTS is and they are not. BTS started off as hip-hop groups. They do all genres of music hip-hop, rap, ED,M, pop, ballads etc. I recommend something like hip-hop Phil live with English subtitles or Mic Drop, Blackswan or danger they have over a decade of work.

BTS is 7 very different, talent artists, over 11yrs in music industry (2 of them made music even before BTS). They have 400+ (500+?) songs, solos, units, collabs, (allso japanese, english), singles, solo albums, OSTs (original soudtrack to movie/serie)... BTS has variety shows, dance practice, award shows, behind making MVs, docu series (Disney+, Prime video)... they have been involved their music (and careers) from begining (what was/still is quite rare in k-pop). Sorry my english and greetings from the north edge of Europe

Dynamite is the first of their English trilogy released during the pandemic to cheer up people. It's supposed to be happy poppy😅. Although they started as hip hop group, their discography is diverse. You can check out BTS tiny desk concert or 2021 Festa where they performed live in relax mode. BTS currently not active as a group due to military service but they still continue to release solo contents. You can check out some of their latest release; RM - lost. I saw you already react to Neva play😊 Jin - the astronaut, co written by Coldplay. Jin is the only member that already being discharged from the military. Suga@AgustD - haegeum J- hope - neuron. J-hope will be discharged from the military next month. Jimin - who V - fri(end)s Jungkook - standing next to you Have fun! ☺ p/s BTS not only the biggest kpop but also the biggest group at the moment. Billboard listed them as one of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century at no 19. Billboard said that no kpop groups or groups in general has ever achieved what BTS has this century.

@@sleazejustin I think it would be best, personally, for you to get to know and appreciate the group before you embark on their solo projects. They were a group for 9 years before they had to go on hiatus for military service for each member and took advantage of that to also work on solo projects together. The group is also the first priority for each and every member, as stated by each member. (Don't get me wrong - I LOOOOVE their solo projects as well.)

I agree that Dynamite is a catchy song, very much a feel good bop. However, it would not be in my list of the top 50 BTS songs; it might not even make my top 100 BTS songs. Don't get me wrong, I like Dynamite. But there are so many songs by BTS that I like better.
@SusieQ1955Ай бұрын
I like Dynamite, but maybe it's because I was sitting here miserable with covid and KZbin brought it. I had never heard of BTS, had a vague stereotype of k-pop in my head. The algorithm kept bringing BTS and in a few songs I was into it. Now a few years later, I agree with everyone else about Dynamite not being typical of their work. Don't give up, they are tremendous musicians. They are #1 in the world, and it's not because of one pop song. Please keep exploring! You'll love it!

You have seen nothing....nothing. They have hundreds and hundreds of songs, and no skips in their discography. They do sooooo many genres, but they are hip hop at their core, the main writers and producers being the three rappers in the group. Oh, want an adventure you have in store. BTS are the biggest musical act in the history of the world, both as a group and as soloists, and for good reason. Deep lyricism and messaging, genuine and good people, amazing artists and performers, incredible synergy and a brotherhood like nothing you have ever seen in a musical group, a diversity of genius level talent, they have it all.
