Hi, I'm 74. Been ARMY since April 13, 2019 when I first saw BTS on Saturday Night Live. They performed Boy With Love and Mike Drop. I was so impressed with them! Now I have a BTS room in my house! Their music helped me cope with the death of my daughter in 2020. She had cancer and I had to take care of her. The BTS song "ON" was my fight song that gave me courage to deal with everything. BTS comes into your life when you need them. I hope you will find their music helpful in your life as well. 💜

The SNL performance is the one that grabbed me too…I consider that my Army birthdate. I’m 60. I don’t think I would have made it through the pandemic without them. They were the bright spot in all of it. I’m sorry about the loss of your daughter.

Sorry about your daughter. I found BTS in 2019 too but in May. Boy With Love was my intro song. I am a cancer survivor. 5 years in remission now. That year i found out my mom was hiding that she had cancer and was not getting any treatment. She was in denial. I fought tooth and nail to get her treated and to have her alive for as many years as possible. BTS and army were there for me and still are. Mom is doing ok. She still in denial about the stage 4 cancer and metastasis. She still has tumors in her head. But she is alive and we still fight often. I'll take it. Hugs tight. Borahae.

I also saw them on SNL for the first time 4/2019 - who is this, what is this? They are amazing! And down the rabbit hole I went (music freak here so that’s natural for me) but this group, these 7 guys, this group of fans just are beyond anything I’ve experienced before, very special - I’m in my 50’s and have been a music freak since I was a baby listening to my older brothers Beatles records, I know good music when I hear it. But I respect and LOVE these 7 artists and all they do.

I hope I can answer some of your questions 1. Just letting you know in Korea your first name is said last. So for example RM's name is Kim Namjoon but his first name is Namjoon. 2. The whole make up discussion is so silly. Every celebrity/performer male and female wears make up. Some of the greatest male entertainers wore make up as part of their stage look. And if you look at BTS without any make up on they don't look that much different and it's not like they wear a full face of make up 24/7. 3. Suga is his stage name for BTS and he goes by Agust D for most of his solo work. It's kind of like an alter ego. 4. J-Hope does help the others learn the choreography but they do work with plenty of in house choreographers and choreographers outside of South Korea too. 5. Ya, there are 2 words that often get confused for the n-word it's niga and naega which mean you and I. When BTS performed Fake Love at the Billboard Music Awards in 2018 they changed the lyrics to avoid people thinking they were they saying the n-word. In my opinion they didn't need to do that as it's very hard to avoid using the words you and I. 6. In South Korea education is still a big deal even if you become a kpop artist. And I don't think it applies now but many young men would pursue college to defer their enlistment in the military. Military service is mandatory for all able bodied men in South Korea. Jin the oldest member of BTS enlisted December 13th and the others will enlist after their solo activities are completed and they are expected to reunite in 2025. 7. BTS have a fictional storyline called the BU (Bangtan Universe) that started with their music video called I Need U in 2015 and it runs through many of their music videos and other content. 8. BTS are literally filmed all the time so that's why there is so much content. I'm convinced the only time they aren't filmed is in the bathroom/shower or if they are spending time with their families who are more private. 9. Jungkook was 15 by Korean age when he joined Bighit, but he was actually only 13. Korean age is calculated differently so pretty much anytime BTS mention their age they are actually 1 or 2 years younger. Basically in South Korea you are 1 when you are born and then everyone turns a year older on January 1st, not their actual birthday. So take V for instance. He was born December 30, 1995 so 2 days later on January 1, 1996 he was already 2 years old by Korean age when he was actually only 2 days old by international age. 10. The tattoo on V's neck was fake. All 7 members have a friendship tattoo of the number 7 in different locations. And when you put the 7's together it forms the name BTS. Jimin and Jungkook are the only members who have tattoos other than the friendship tattoo.

@@PeeteHouse You're welcome. You would be 29 by Korean age, but on January 1st, 2023 you would be 30. And I'm pretty sure soon South Korea is changing their aging system to international age so it won't be different ages anymore, they will use their birthdays like we do. But now it will be confusing explaining to people how Korea used to have a different aging system. I just can't imagine being Jungkook moving away from my family at just 13 years old, but luckily he had the older members to look after him. I also want to share that even though Jungkook is multitalented he is very humble. When asked in an interview what he's good at his response was "nothing really". Sometimes these guys are just too humble in my opinion. And if you have anymore questions don't be afraid to ask. Thanks for the reaction.

@@PeeteHouse about 8. At the first time, it looks really horrifying that there is Big brother watching them all the time but it's not true. They have their own private time and live (still in the boundaries of Idols). But when they film shows especially traveling ones, yes, they are filmed even sleeping. There is a little bit misunderstanding about word Idol. In Korea it is singer/performer mainly in pop music. Just it is not only singer it comes with dance, dressing up, make ups, maners, no dating, less private life, etc.
@lovelyy6491
@lovelyy6491 2 жыл бұрын
@@vikaursa Exactly, they have very private lives, we haven't even seen all their parents/siblings faces or if they're dating other people. It's very different from other idols in South Korea. We just know what they want to share, not even paparazzi (Dispatch, in this case) can gather any information on them. That being said, that doesn't make them disingenuous, what they decide to share with us is always very sincere

Heeeavy on no.5!! I've seen a lot of ppl saying "aww, I'ts so nice of them". Like I know how it may have looked, concidering that a lot of people watching that show were general public and BTS were still relatively new there, they wanted to play it safe. But I'm Polish, and some words from other languages can also sound like curse words in my mother tongue. But if I know that someone is talking in a different language I'm not going to think much of it. My personal opinion is that they sould have sung the original lyrics and all of those possible ignorant people would have been dealt with by army later on lol. But what's done is done, that's just my opinion.

Nobody interacts more with their fans than BTS. When other artists leave award shows and go to after parties...BTS hops on a livestream with their fans. It makes us feel very connected to them as people and not just as musicians and makes us an incredibly loyal fanbase. In all their shows we see their personalities and fall in love with them as people. They also lead by example and are the best example of "good humans" on every level. It's one thing to be a fan of an artists music, but it's a whole different depth to be a fan of the person. All of them have composed and produced music but the 3 rappers are the main writers. The fictional storyline that they talked about running through their albums is called "The Bangtan Universe" (The BU). It's something you probably shouldn't explore until you are a lot further into their music. It's just another level of their depth. They are humble kings who can do it all. I can't wait to see more of your BTS reactions. Thanks for reacting. I am a 64 year old gramma who is proud to call herself ARMY. I think you would really enjoy a video by xCeleste about ARMY. Saying Yoongi (Suga) expresses from the inside out is such a great way to put it. He's quiet but puts everything into his music, where he's extremely open. To learn more about his history and struggles, I'd recommend The Last (very heavy, though), and to see his deep connection with music, you should listen to First Love. Hyung is the Korean term for older brother. You can pronounce it like the words “he”and ”young” together so “heyoung” something like that. You also asked about Yoongi having two names. Aaaactually in Korean the y isn’t really pronounced as it’s own letter😂. The only sounds that have y in it are ㅑ(ya) ㅕ(yeo)ㅛ(yo) and ㅠ(yu) hyung is actually spelt as 형(hyeong) in Korean, so the h (ㅎ) isn’t separated from the yeo (ㅕ) and the e in yeo is silent. I hope this didn’t come off as rude, and if I said smth that was wrong I hope there’s an actual fluent korean here to tell me lmao, I’ve just started learning korean a couple months ago

*About BTS's creator and RM's role* - "Hitman" Bang Si-hyuk (Bang PD or Hitman Bang) had the concept for creating a group that could be leaders for the hip hop culture of their generation in South Korea. He scouted for the group, having auditions from 2010 to 2012, and RM was the first member and he formed the group around him. RM also had input on who to pick for the group. I just learned about the fact recently in an interview he did. Bang PD was so impressed by RM when *PDOGG* showed him the video of his performance, that he set up a meeting with RM to sign him immediately. He became even more impressed as he got to know him. *Big Hit, The Big 3, and BTS's hardships* - Even though they are the biggest company now, with money and success because of BTS's success, they still don't have the media power that the other Big 3 KPop Entertainment agencies have (SM, YG, and JYP) in South Korea. BTS actually paved the way for *Korean aritsts and* KPOP groups to have a Global platform, but they keep getting hated on and not getting airplay, on TV shows in their own country, because the BIG 3 control the media and the television shows. *Their Names* - So in South Korea (like some other Asian countries), the family name always comes first, then the first name, so *Kim Namjoon* in America would be *Namjoon Kim.* Just so you know. And KIM is a very common last name (family name) in South Korea. You will notice in the BTS group there are 3 members with that last name. Kim Nam-joon, Kim Seok-jin, and Kim Tae-hyung. *RM and his music* - Regarding the song JOKE by RM, the original video has no English subtitles, and there are Korean references that you will not understand, so I can link you the video with English subtitles and references added to the video by an ARMY translator. This was a song meant for haters/Korean rappers in underground and also KPOP that would hate on him and his bandmates. I know you have reacted to RM's most recent music videos from his first full solo album, so this song was written and released in 2015 on his very first solo mixtape. He has *two mixtapes (2015-RM; 2018-MONO)* and *one solo album (2022-INDIGO).* Not to mention numerous solo collaborations. "EDIT: RM dropped his second solo album Right Place, Wrong Person (released - May 24, 2024), which was released (by his agency) while he was enlisted in the military* RM - Joke w/Eng subs - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hamwo3WEd7yeqa8 *SUGA and his music* - So Min Yoon-gi is his birth name, SUGA is his stage name with BTS, and AgustD is his stage name as a solo artist. While SUGA didn't like dancing when he first joined BTS, he likes it now. So much so that he is taking lessons while he is on their break and getting ready to drop his solo album. He has *2 solo mixtapes (2016-AgustD; 2020-D-2).* *Update/Edit: SUGA aka Agust D released his debut solo album D-DAY, and he also did a dance practice video of choreography to his title track Haegeum, which he did for ARMY, because he wanted to (it's a very high energy, and highly skilled dance choreography)* *BTS's Choreography and Choreographers* - For their choreography, they actually have an amazing choreographer Son Sung-deuk, since pre-debut, and they do on occasion have other choreographers that they collaborate with. It keeps their choreography fresh and new, and they learn new styles all the time. It makes BTS well rounded when it comes to their dance skills. (They recently, within the last few years, had a change in their choreography team, Son Sung-deuk got promoted to main Performance director.) *J-Hope's dance role in the group* - J-Hope does contribute choreography, as well as other members like Jimin, but they are not the main choreographers. J-Hope is a great dance leader and teacher, and you are right, the members do trust and respect him, and they look to him for approval. He actually mentors other KPop groups within HYBE labels. I believe BTS has become the standard, the example for KPop dance choreography. *About J-Hope* - Yes, he is scared of a lot of things, but what I admire about him is that he doesn't let his fears stop him from anything. He bravely confronts those fears. The bug phobia I can totally relate to. J-Hope recently released his solo album, so he has his *one mixtape (2018-Hope World)* and then he now has his *one solo album (2022-Jack In The Box)* I highly recommend that you watch J-Hope's performance at this year's "New Year's Rockin' Eve" in New York City. I think it's 9:34-9:40 EST. He's performing a medley of 3 songs in 6 minutes. Equal Sign, Chicken Noodle Soup, and Butter Holiday Remix. *Update/Edit: J-Hope released a Hope On the Street version of his JITB album, which was released after he enlisted in the military on April 18, 2023. The album included new tracks from his Lollapalooza Headlining performance in Chicago, which I would highly recommend a reaction of that performance. Since his enlistment, he also released a few documenaries, one about his JITB album journey, and the other about his Dance Journey, and he also released an EP - HOPE ON THE STREET: Volume 1 (released March 29, 2024), which coincided with his dance documentary (released on Amazon Prime Video, March 27, 2024). He will be discharged from the military on October 17, 2024, which is less than a month away.* *BTS Members Songwriting and Production contributions.* - The BTS Rap Line (RM, SUGA, and J-Hope) are the main songwriters for the group, while all the members have contributed Composition, Songwriting, and Producing, on BTS tracks and solo projects, and they are all associate members of the Korean Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), except for the rapline, who are all 3 Full Members of KOMCA, with each of them having over 100 plus credits to their name. RM is the first one to now have 200 plus credits recently. *Update/Edit - Jungkook became a full member of KOMCA (January 2024), and he owns KOMCA credits for 23 songs, and is the fourth BTS member to earn a full member status.* Thank you for reacting to the Introduction video. Sorry about the long essay, but I wanted to answer your questions and clarify some points. So If you see this, I hope it was helpful. *Edit: And I edited more because a lot has happened in a year since I posted this response comment/essay.*

We also call him lil meow meow coz he loves to sleep a lot, like a cat. And he's the title holder of the most proposed man in the whole world. "Yoongi, Marry me" is everywhere. EVERYWHERE. 😂 You love their rap.. I see. You'd be glad to know that the BTS Rap line (RM, Suga and Jhope) are the holy fvckin' trinity. Top tier. They are the best rappers. Their flow, their cadence, man... you are in for a treat. Namjoon is a genius lyricst too, his wordplays are insane. Doolset is the best place to go when you want translations of their songs, as it gives context to the Korean wordplay they use. There are also videos explaining BTS' songs. I've never seen a more dedicated fandom who takes time to dissect and explain BTS' songs along with its cultural references.

Thank you for taken time to learn about BTS. A lot of people think their just a dance and singing group. They're changing lives for the positive. The fandom are from age 10yrs old-85+yrs old. I look at BTS as a Ministry (not religion) they teach self love, leadership, Speaking for others who don't have a voice yet, Non suicidal because you have a purpose, etc. BTS always show us their Imperfections to let us know we don't have to be perfect but just original. Yes, Army is protective ( A lot of times too protective) of BTS because they have and still going through a lot of negativity with the world of prejudice. When you have someone that have changed your life for the good you aways have their back without them even asking. Army is a family, dare you to text I'm army having a bad day today. Hundreds if not thousands army responding let talk, what's going when, what do you need, what's your location we'll find a army that live near you to be with you. This is what BTS teach "togetherness" BTS is from South Korea All the men have mandatory military service so now the members are preparing themselves to go into the service for 18 mons. But each member wanted to do a individual single album which they're working on now. 1. J-Hope Release his album in July called "Jack in the Box" 2. RM release his album is December called "Indigo" 3. Jin release his single in Oct called " Astronaut" Jin went into the service already on 12/13 😪 The other members are working on their album now and will enter military 2023 and 2024. Army will be waiting for BTS to finish the Military obligation. We'll be praying for safety, buying merch, saving money for concerts/ traveling, voting on music charting, etc. Other videos you may like: 1. BTS From Nobodies to Legends. 2. BTS Crash Course 2020 3. BTS ARMYS

Whenever BTS goes to award shows, wether they win or not, instead of going to the after party like most celebrities, they go to their hotel and connect to vlive to share the moment with ARMY. If a performance got cut or the way it was shown on TV wasn’t appreciated well (bad camera work, bad lighting, etc), they release their version or dance practice right away. They always release dance practice, but it usually takes them weeks or months. You know something happened when they release it like the next day lol. It’s passive aggressive and I’m here for it.

If you're a music lover you'd never disrespect any musician ( his favourite song is Zero O'clock) ' and I agree..we might not like certain genres or song but it doesn't gives us the right to disregard them.. hard work is hard work. This was a great reaction! As a JK bias, I will agree that guy is CRAZY talented but what inspires me most about him is his relentless work ethic and self-motivation that strives him to always be better, do better. I think he had a very artistic view for the world, all of BTS do, really. Their music is super diverse and they seem to know what they’re doing with it. Back to JK - I know it's pretty much a fandom fixed narrative about JK being raised by the others but one thing I'll say is that it’s super commendable about JK managed himself at such a young age in such a competitive industry. The rest were all teens and young adults back then so we can't expect the kind of emotional availablity from them as we do from legitimate caretakers (though I'm sure they all tried their best) so the fact that JK adapted to Seoul’s environment and shouldered HUGE responsibilities of being the Main Vocalist, lead dancer, centre and sub-rapper is phenomenal to me. I have so much respect for him and the rest of BTS. The things they have accomplished could not be possible without hardwork, perseverance and the obvious synergy they share amongst themselves.

Jungkook was not chosen by the company he auditioned for which wasn´t because he would not be a strong vocalist - you can hear his voice and tone was amazing already then - but because they must have been deaf LOL :D. He was approached then by 7 different companies so that proves how big of a mistake the initial company did. And it always amazes me how smart of a decision a 13 year old boy did when he didn´t choose a big company but instead he followed RM who charmed him with his talent and charisma. Just wow! Well done, JK! (BTW, korean age is different from ours. Jungkook auditioned in 2011 so he was 13, he became 14 already during his training, he was born in September 97. They debuted in 2013 June so he was 15 then.)

Yes, "hyung" is a word for "brother", it's how a younger guy will call their older brother or close friend. They can use just "hyung" or "[guy's name] + hyung" (for example, "Namjoon hyung") so you'll hear them calling each other a lot like that. It's pronounced as "hee-eong". They also use "dongsaeng", which is the opposite, it's how an older guy/brother calls their younger friend/brother. J-Hope tends to call Jungkook, Jimin and V like that the most. In South Korea there's a few honorifics like that, women also have their own honorifics.

We kind of pestered Taylor to do a narrated video when she asked for feedback but she doesn't like her own voice. Fair enough I guess. 🤷‍♀️ But yeah, these guys are just amazing on and off stage. I can honestly say that they've litterally saved my life. They found me at a very dark point in time and they - and especially the song Epiphany performed live which I know has saved several lives - guided me out of that darkness and inspired me to make some difficult but much needed drastic changes to my life. It's become my life mantra. I just turned 46 and hopefully I have many more years of connecting with my purple family all over the world ahead of me. They and ARMY have truly helped restore my faith in humanity. If you want a small taste of the fictional storyline aka the Bangtan Universe aka the BU, it starts with the mv for I Need U (the 19+ original version). But I'm giving you a heads up/trigger warning: It's surprisingly dark. The storyline is very comprehensive. It will however add a whole extra layer to their mvs and artistry. XCeleste has made a really good summary/"cheat sheet" of it and that alone takes about an hour! I mean, we're talking mvs, short films, notebooks, a webtoon and even a mobile game, Jungian psychology, greek mythology, classical litterature,..... They go deep-deep! 🤯 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I read a recent comment of another ARMY that said : you don't find BTS, BTS finds you when you need them the most. That's true in my case, I've known about them since the beginning, I have a dear friend that's been ARMY since and she tried to introduce me to them, I was enjoying it but I did not get trapped. This September however, after 2 difficult years, I had a breakdown and was seriously thinking if everything that's happening in my life is worth it or not, they found me and it has been like a wave of warm has been placed upon my heart and mind. I'm grateful for them and I can say they gave me the hope, the encouragement, the desire to look at the future with open arms. 💜💜💜

The word that you must have heard was Nega which means You in korean or Naega which means I/I am. Jin is the member who has improved the most. From learning to sing and dance during their training days to being acknowledged by critics as a “Silver Voice” is a humongous achievement. BTS is truly a family - RM choosing his members over a solo career, JIN being able to prevent SUGA from committing suicide, JUNGKOOK convincing J-HOPE not to leave the band.

Thanks for your reaction!! BTS is not just a boy band. It's a movement whith soul and heart. I'm an Army since 2020 but I feel like if I was there since the begining. I love their music but I really love their humble hearts, their sincerity and transparency. They can take us to happiness and joy very quickly with just their smile or voices. All their lyrics are very meningful and always help us to survive in this world. The bond between BTS and Army is so true, so strong and so beautiful. Even when we can't see them in person we still sincerely love each one of them with all our hearts. No one can resist them or fall madly in love with them. If you are new then you have to know them well. So, I recommend you to react to their MVs (Blood, Sweet & Tears, ON Kinetic manifesto, Black Swan, Mic Drop, Dynamite, Yet to Come, Run BTS, Life goes on, Magic Shop, Mikrokosmos, The Truth Untold, Your eyes tell, Singularity from V, Euphoria from Jungkook, Filter from Jimin, Epiphany from Jin, Daechwita from Suga, Wildflower from RM, Just Dance or Ego from J-Hope). There are so many songs that sometimes I feel like I'm not going to be able of hearing them all. You have to watch also their live performance for the MAMA, MMA, Billboard and Grammy. And also their own show "BTS Run". This sow is our medicine for the soul. Whenever I feel bad or stressed I look at them and at the end I feel renewed, as if everything had disappeared. Thanks again and I look forward to further reactions from BTS.

Awesome reaction! The makeup thing is both a cultural thing and kpop thing from what I've found. It's not unusual for korean men to wear BB cream on the daily, especially professionally. Rappers however, especially from an underground background don't usually wear makeup, and for a long time k-rappers looked down on idol rappers. I think a lot of that has changed a bit, at least that's what I've learned. If any info that I've posted here is wrong or inaccurate, please someone correct me. 😊

its so heartwarming finding many people getting to know bts!! ive been a fan since predebut (2012-2013) and i was 13 when they debuted. i'm now 23 and years later, bts is still a huge comfort for me. i may not be into them as much as i was before, yet i can't deny that them and their music saved me from really tough times when i was younger. they quite literally reminded me through their music on how to love myself, that mental health is super important and should be talked about, all these things which i still struggle with today. i truly fell in love with their lyrics and how they treat other people despite if those people were mean and unjust to them. they're all doing solo stuff for now and will slowly do their military enlistments, which is a little sad, yet i also cant wait to catch up on their non-music content. i appreciate you! i hope you continue to enjoy their music like many of us have and its really great seeing someone who has a lot of respect for them especially after taking the time to understand and know where they came from. hope the new year wishes you well too, cant wait to see more content from you! (can't wait to see if you'll also check other groups out as well in your own time :] ) also, please pause as much as you want! a lot of us have already seen most, if not all of their stuff, so its great seeing you, again, take your time with this! besides, if we did want to watch without pausing, it would be no problem to watch the actual video ourselves !

Don't rule out the silver ARMYs! I will be 70 in two months and have been following BTS since 2016. Also, you may not know this, but Koreans place their surnames first and Kim is a very common last name which is why there are three members with that name (Jin, RM, & V). Park (Jimin) is also very common as is Lee. Park drops the 'r' in pronunciation (according to a Korean gentleman that my daughter dated). The 'H' is almost dropped making 'hy' sound like a softer & breathier. Hyung sounds like 'young', just not as hard. Same goes for Bang Si Hyuk, the CEO. I have found Korean pronunciation to be more consistent than English. ''ae" seems to always be 'ay' (tae, sunbae, maknae, etc.). Hope this helps you a little. One other cultural thing. Koreans are one year old when born, so Jungkook was actually 14 by global age when he left home to join BTS. There seems to be a current movement to convert to global.

Even though most of ARMY sees them as 7 rappers, vocalists, dancers, composers and producers - many fans continue to hold onto outdated info when it comes to the roles even if its not an official position. *BTS is a multitalented group because each member has several different roles and talent on top of their official one.* 4 RAPPERS RM - main, leader SUGA - main JHOPE - lead rapper JUNGKOOK - sub rapper (semi part of rapline, since he started out rapping early on) 5 VOCALISTS JUNGKOOK - main JIMIN - lead V - lead JIN - vocalist JHOPE - sub vocalist (contributes some songs) 4 DANCERS JHOPE - main JIMIN - main JUNGKOOK - lead V - lead

Technically BTS are Kpop (since Kpop is a term for the Korean music industry overall and includes all genres) , however ARMY say that they aren’t in response to the way that the KPOP industry and fans still treat BTS with the same constant disrespect, minimising of achievements & discrediting as they did in the beginning but are still happy to benefit from their successes. Essentially what happened was ARMY & Kpop fans had an argument which ended with the Kpop fans declaring that BTS & ARMY were kicked out of Kpop. To which ARMY responded with the declaration of ‘ARMY Indepencence Day’ (Oct 15) - which kicked off our official dislike of being grouped with the other Kpop fans/groups. It was briefly explained well in the Intro to this video (0:00-2:20) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX2uomCmZ653eK8

4:09 BTS did start from the bottom up to where they are now but many still tend to get confused when they see that specific scene, it was part of their episode 8 finale of mini-series of #BTSAmericanHustleLife that they filmed (2014) in LA, California. Within that scene, they were doing a mission of learning how to ‘self-promote’ from the sidewalk as well as learned from western known artists while working with coolio and warren g along before they performed their own mini concert at the end of the show where they did “no more dream” and “we are bulletproof pt2” with a ending encore showing off what they learned during the episode. 10:39 Side note to let you know and keep in mind their SURNAMES come first and FIRSTNAMES come last, for example KIM NAM-JOON = NAMJOON KIM and so on (RM is his stage name, which essentially stands for ‘REAL ME); HE IS THE LEADER AND MAIN RAPPER on top of other roles. *This guide introduces the members in the order they joined BIGHIT and BTS, when they debuted their ages were from 20-15 back in June 2013. Since RM is leader, he goes first then oldest to youngest ….* RM (28) - leader, middle member JIN (30) - oldest, he’s currently in military training then onto official position until June 2024 SUGA (29) - 2nd oldest JHOPE (28) - he’s six months older than RM even tho they’re around the same age. JIMIN (27) - three months older than V but around the same age. V (27) JUNGKOOK (25) - youngest 12:49 That was RM’s previous IQ for the longest time until retesting during exams and what I thought his IQ reached up around 190, it was actually his english compensation test score which I’ll have to go back to rewatch Problematic Man episode from two years ago to see what his actual updated IQ is. Also, he learned english during his adolescent years watching “Friends” which is how he’s so fluent and taught the rest of them and JHOPE shares the responsibility with RM in teaching them english speaking as well. *All the members can speak good amount of english.*

Hi - lovely to see you finding out who BTS and ARMY really are. I am touched by your appreciation of their awareness and activity in regard to social and economic issues. BTS are never public about those matters, but unlike what many may expect from them, their music is deeply committed to addressing such issues. They never get political, unless the p is lowercase, but every song I can think of has a deep meaning, and many openly call out societal inequalities, especially their rap songs. However, they are Korean, and they address Korean issues, some of which are not easy for the west to understand. That is why - along with amazing musicality - many of their songs have fan-made "explanation" videos so that western fans can appreciate things like wordplay and cultural matters. I can NOT recommend those highly enough! Nearly all their songs involve some elements of both, but rap numbers can inevitably be rife with them - after all rap is Rhythm and Poetry - and that's why I like it. I'm 67 and I'm afraid I have not for decades liked any of the American rap I heard, though when it first hit the scene I loved it for its raucous righteous rebellion. Now it seems to me to be about booty and bling, neither of which interest me in the least, and in fact never did, so it's really not because I'm old. One reason I'm such an ARMY is because I think BTS' rap deals with what American rap should be talking about - there are AT LEAST as many difficulties and inequalities in American society as there are in Korea or anywhere else in the world. BTS never blame others, or point the finger, but they paint what they see, and yet somehow still make a positive message for the world. By the way, from even before debut, every single member of BTS has been subjected to some the most shocking hate. Much, but not all, of that is summarised in xCeleste's excellent video BTS' hardships - I think you would find that informative too.

BTS feel like proof that so many people want positivity and love out there that they can send a group of good boys with good hearts to this level of popularity. It's not a boy band, it's people wanting each other to know we're all here together and walking towards the same thing, and it's a future that means something.

All the records BTS had set are unbreakable. And only they themselves are capable of breaking their own records. It's a miracle how they've grown this much since 2013. After they're back from serving in military, they will continue making new records and more history as Legends. They are the greatest boyband of all time with the biggest Fandom in the world. Their best moments are yet to come.

24:49 someone wrote already that they do have outside choreographers to make their performances but you are correct in that they all have so much respect and trust in Jhope to critique and guide their performances to the perfection. When they work as a group noone above the critique.

Bts's story is the most amazing underdog success story of the whole music industry ! To really understand their journey, you have to know that 3 entertainment compagnies in South Korea, (aka the Big 3 ) dominated the Kpop industry (Idol system) since 20 years, they have not only the money, but the power and the connection with all the entertainment média, radio (payola aka pay for play system) , and TV show (Kpop is born with TV show, they are very important). Every Kpop group have to work hard to succeed, and Kpop industry is very compétitive, but the groups who belongs to the Big 3 have what is called "the Big 3 privileges" : large media cover, daily radio play, invitation in ALL the TV shows. It's help a lot to build a fanbase and having success ! So during years and years, only the Big 3 groups wins awards on Korean or Asian Award Show ... until BTS. BTS and their compagny Big Hit don't have money, they don't have connections, they don't have power. (the compagny barely survived and was really poor, even to the extent that the guys were doing other jobs like backup dancers or delivery before their debuts. Jin taking stuff from his parent's house for this members to use and taking them to his parent's house to get a decent meal. J Hope''s mom having to get jobs to help them out financially. Most if not all of their parents chipping in to keep the rent paid. And OG Army fans were literally sending them food, basic and housold items everyday to help them ! ) They just have their talents and raw potential, their hard word, dédication to their fan base, and an artistic freedom that is NOT a common thing in the Kpop industry at all ! Banf Si Hyuk let the boys express their opinions, allowed them to talk about issues that many in SK society (and specialy no other idol ) wouldn't, like mental health, school pressure, disparity in societal classes and so on. They were different, a anomaly in the Kpop industry. Their authenticity and their passion attracted fans , not only in Korea but worldwide. They begin to grow... But from a business point of view, Korean culture is hierarchical and strict adherence to this hierarchy is mandatory for everyone. For a small unknown company (Big Hit) with ragtag idols (BTS) to dare to compete with the big guns is near blasphemy; so every effort is taken to ensure this system is not disrupted.... but they failed and BTS succeed way more than anybody can predicted. Since Big Hit didn't have money for doing promotion , didn't have connexion with the média and TV show and dont stick the rules of "pay for play" as the big compagnies does, they find their own way to promote themselves, with the active help of Army (they even said one time that armys are like their agents Lol !) Not only with YT and other social media, but with their own plateform like Weverse, or V Live. Their worldwide popularity is a grassroot movment. And all the hardships, bullying, mistreatment and hate BTS and Army together have to face and going threw have made the most strong bond and codépendant relation ever between a band and his fandom. Sorry to be this long and I hope it's informative .

This video is the best! But I just want to point out that even tho it's "accurate as of May 2022" It's still not updated because with BTS you basically can't have an updated version for a long time. If you want an accurate update of BTS you would have to add another 5 Minutes every other week because they are working so much that they achieve something new every other week. For example as of May till now, they again released multiple solo albums, other projects, won many awards and broke records. Update: as of Dec 2022, BTS hold the record of the 4th most awarded artist in the world with +800 awards
