In the two first MV’s Suga kills his negative side. We all have good and bad in us and we always fight to do the right thing by overcoming our dark side and temptations. Suga is saying he always wanted to be rich and famous to show all those haters he could do it, but then realized that becoming rich and famous also brought other dangers- losing your humility and possibly your principles and dignity. He chose to kill those temptations and remain the humble, awesome man he is. On Amygdala, he tells about his real experiences and how he wishes he could forget all those bad experiences and wonders if they made him who he is now, which means he accepts them. But he still cannot fully heal his pain as he cannot save himself in the end. While touring last year, on his last day in Seoul, he finally was able to open that door and escape. It was such a beautiful, touching moment!!!!🥹🥹🥹💜 He is an incredible human being 💜💕🥹

Suga is not afraid of talking about his mental health. he has depression, panic attacks, and social anxiety. He also talk about how he felt guilty about his mother's heart condition, he felt it was because he born that she almost di3d when he was only 1 month old. He always advocate for mental health struggles and he is very real about it. And no, he didn't have a drxgs problem, but the pills symbolized the struggles with his diagnosis related to his shoulder that provoke the accident when he was a BTS trainees. Which is the reason why he was absent from some period of BTS when he made a surgery in his shoulder because couldn't deal wıth the pain of it anymore.

Suga has never used dr-gs. The pills in the clip are painkillers that he took for several years hiding the pain in his shoulder (he danced through the pain). When they first debuted, he had an accident (it's in the clip) while delivering food. Even the members didn't know about his injury for a long time. He had surgery in 2020, and now everything is fine.Suga has a really difficult past. He was depressed for a long time. There are many reasons for this

You can think of the one with the “scar” as Suga and Agust D as without the scar. Suga is kind of this persona he has put on as an idol that comes with being a slave to money, fame, and it’s own hardships and corruption that you have to put yourself through I think to make it big. Agust D is the other side of him that is always battling himself, trying to keep him grounded, trying to be as true to himself as he can be, and fighting the own demons he has. The last video just explains everything kind of backwards, how suga’s “scar” was formed because of the hardships he experienced as a trainee and that transformed him into the idol he is. He actually got into an accident while he was working for BigHit and didn’t tell them for months, all the while all that stuff was going on with his parents, on top of pressures of succeeding. He only recently got the surgery for his injury a couple years ago and was working with a messed up arm for so long afraid he’d get in trouble. Pills were anti anxiety meds. With his solo tour, he closed this chapter of his life indicating he has healed and he is okay. We love Min Yoongi!

I hope that he can heal from that too. If he wants to make music or needs to, I'll gladly listen, but if it's too much or he doesn't want to, it's okay too. In the MV amygdala, where the "AgustD" trilogy begins, he tells his own story, when they were still trainees, Suga worked part-time as a home delivery man (with a motorcycle) one day he had an accident where he injured his shoulder, but he didn't say anything for fear that the group's debut would be delayed or that he would be kicked out of the group before debuting, and it wasn't until 2019 that he had surgery. In that accident he suffered a posterior labrum tear, an extremely painful injury. Despite the pain, Suga never let that stop him when it came to doing his performances and choreographies (although on many occasions he was seen at the end of the performance, putting his hand to his shoulder in a gesture of pain). As a curious fact, it is speculated that his shoulder injury, despite having had reconstructive surgery, is what exempted Suga from regular Mandatory Military Service and that is why he is doing Alternative Military Service, which consists of work for the state (in Suga's case, it is known that he is working in a government office) and only has 3 weeks of basic military training, which is granted to those men who, for medical reasons, are not fit for conventional military service. AgustD, Suga's alter ego, was born to "shout" everything that Suga as a K-pop idol couldn't shout. This trilogy consists of the albums AgustD (in which he takes out all his anger and frustration for the difficulties he has experienced since he was born) , D-2 (In which that fury is directed at those who hate him, criticize him without knowing him, and even those who question him as a true rapper just for being a Kpop idol) (these first two are mixtapes) and D-Day (his first official album as a soloist, where he shows a more mature side in which he realizes that all that anger is a waste of time, and learns that they are lessons and challenges that must be overcome in order to move forward)... In this MV, AgustD remembers everything that happened, the physical and mental pain he suffered, and expresses how he leaves all that fury and rage behind in order to move forward without carrying the weight of that pain and resentment he had before. (It is his way of expressing that he has matured and does not need to shout about his pain and frustration, but rather he takes it as lessons and tests that life gives you and that you have to overcome...)

Amygdala…man, ARMY cried when we watched that the first time. Watching him relive all that trauma was tough. And that “room” he keeps trying to escape but just can’t seem to do it…I have never seen depression and trauma represented so well. That video makes you feel something.
@maryr190518 күн бұрын
Agree. This captures the trapped experience of depression and the helplessness of those trying to support the one suffering better than anything I have ever seen (and is why there is a trigger warning at the beginning of the video). It acknowledges that our scars happen as we try to imperfectly deal with the traumas that happen in life. Daechwita and Haegeum show the struggle to overcome versions of yourself that are not good. He makes no excuses which is so powerful and real. When he included this symbolism at the very last concert he did before going into the military, followed by the words, “Future’s gonna be OK,” the message was clear that this chapter of his life closed in victory. ARMY understood and celebrated with him. It was so powerful!

@Raphah_RaysaАй бұрын
Please react to the LYRICS. A lot of work goes behind the lyrics of each song as BTS members have expressed countless times. It's one the main reasons why I became ARMY because of how talented, knowledgeable, deep and emotional their words were. If you look at the lyrics of Haegeum, you'll notice he says 'this song's simply about freeing what's forbidden' which is one of the meanings of 'Haegeum'. BTS' lyricism accompanied with other elements of music (be it choreo, composition, production, acting etc.) makes their music such a phenomenal experience. So the lyrics, I think, are super important. Thanks for the reaction, I really enjoyed it ☺💜

His parents also didn't supported him. He firstly wanted to sign contract with Big Hit but not as a kpop idol but as a producer but Big Hit scamed him and that's how he became kpop traine. To have money he also worked as a delivery guy, he had a motorcycle accident while he was working there and he also has the consequences of it to this day.

I think you didn’t mean “BH scammed him” because they did not scam him. It’s a running joke among the boys and Bang Si Hyuk that BSH told him he would only produce and write rap but he later got drawn in to BTS which transformed from hiphop to idol where he had to dance. Suga says BSH “lied” to him but it’s always said in jest.
@maryr190518 күн бұрын
@@BoraMomAnd I also think it shows the relationship Suga (and all the members) has with Bang Si Huyk that they can joke with him. Suga played a huge role in the formation of BTS behind the scenes. He drops hints about this every once in a while. As a respected underground producer and songwriter already, he and RM had a lot of influence. He talked a lot to those making decisions about who would be on the team and was instrumental in bringing Jimin into the group (Jimin was a trainee who had no place to live so he bunked with the members and Suga told him he wanted Jimin in the group along with some of the development team when Bang Si Huyk didn’t think he was ready.). Suga doesn’t put himself in the spotlight often but is a foundational force. He said his tour was in part to help other members learn from his experience and he could jump in because he had enough songs ready. But I think it was much needed for him to have this time in the spotlight as a musician. He showed how incredibly talented he really is.

@bu7874-c1zАй бұрын
So much I want to say, but here's a few things 5:55 the beat technically didn't change at all. it was his flow that gave the tempo change. In fact, the beat stays the same throughout the song but his flow is what makes it so dynamic. I personally love that so much. Deachwita is an instrument/type of music(can't remember which) that was played to announce the arrival of the king. The king in this case is the man himself. If I'm not mistaken the horn type instrument you can hear in the track is what it is. The rap group you are referring to is Deagu Town (Dt sugA - Agust D ) I have no idea if this is accurate but my interpretation of the three mvs is he's kind of stuck in his own head, in this endless self destructive(?) loop. (The version that shot the blonde version in deachwita is killed in haegum) .In amygdala he's pleading his own mind to help him, comes so close to getting out. Like somebody else in the comments pointed out he finally got free at the end of his tour. My mom heard Amygdala and she absolutely hated it, said she can't stand his vocal delivery in the chorus because he sounds like he's yelling. She has no idea what the song is about, even if she did she'll still hate it because it's not like a regular singing style(?) I love my mom but she's so narrow minded sometimes lol. Anyways the point is that it is one of the reasons I love that song so much. You can hear the desperation in his voice and with the context of the lyrics, I feel heartbroken every time I hear it. I just have to put this out there. I have so much love for all the members, but I have this immense respect for Suga, whenever I mention this to other people they always think it's silly or cringey that I "respect a kpop idol", but I don't care. He's such an admirable person to me that I can't put it in words. I have never ever felt the need or want to meet a celebrity, but I just want to have a face to face conversation with Suga man, he is such a fascinating person to me. Yes that's Jin and Jungkook on the Daechwita mv. Agust D is the Agus(Suga backwards) then DT(Daegu Town backwards - Suga's hometown). Haegeum is a string instrument or for this mv it means like lifting a ban or to liberate. Suga is involved in the production and mv.

This trilogy is iconic. It really makes you think. And Amygdala sounds so beautiful, but is so heartbreaking.
@karenbenson59763 күн бұрын
Daechwita is a Korean word that means great blowing and hitting. It is also the name of a traditional Korean genre of military music that is played with wind and percussion instruments. That’s the music you hear in the song. AgustD is (Daegu town) Suga. Daegu is where Suga is from. The word Haegeum has several meanings. One is a traditional Korean stringed instrument, or lifting of a ban or prohibition. In the song AgustD’s uses the word “Haegeum” to express freedom and liberation from societal demands. Korean culture is strict with high expectations their children. The children have their lives planned out for them, very few are allowed to follow their dreams. Amygdala is about Suga’s life. During his idol training years he went through some serious stuff. He was a delivery driver to make money. He was in a accident that injured his shoulder. He didn’t tell anyone about the accident because he was afraid of being released from Big hit. He was in near constant pain, imagine trying to do dance practice with BTS with a messed up shoulder. . He later had to have surgery to repair his shoulder. He also had a lot of family issues during his training years as well. Suga is a beast so strong and determined to succeed in his career and an amazing talent as well. I love me some Suga. ❤

Loved this guys, thank you so much!!! I see the first two videos/songs as he's killed those parts of himself he doesn't need anymore. Like maybe his anger that he used to have a lot of? He created his Agust D persona to channel his anger through his music. He has spoken about being full of anger in his early days and now he has found his peace and doesn't feel that anger anymore. He has also said that this last 'Agust D' work (album) may be his last work as 'Agust D'as he doesn't feel he needs that persona anymore. He said some songs he won't be able to perform anymore because he just doesn't have that same anger that fuelled the making of those songs. I think Amygdala is a sort of 'Origin' story, you know, like a prequel of sorts. He bares himself and speaks on his trauma and pain and he tries to reach the door to free himself. After BTS announced they'd each be enlisting to serve their Mandatory Military Service, Suga announced his world concert tour which he completed before he began service. It started in NY and ended in Seoul. He did 28 shows in the US and Asia in just over 3 months. That door that he couldn't get to in the 'Amygdala' MV, he finally walks through on stage at the end of his final concert. So ARMY were so happy to know that he is ok now❤️

Min Yoongi is so strong and powerful which can be totally seen. Throughout his life journey he struggled a lot and reached success as he deserves. The hardships he had to go through is literally TOUGH but still he managed to got through it all and create a stronger and better version of himself. Many people hate him because of his cold nature but true ARMY’s ain’t like that cuz if you don’t know how fun and entertaining suga is, you ain’t an army as simple as that💜

The king Suga was cosplaying in Dechwita was the cruelest in the History of South Korea, Yeonsangun from the Joseon Dynasty. From a young age, it was said that the 3rd prince was sent away from the palace and became a lone wolf. He found out his mother was killed by his father, the king of that time. He killed his brothers and was crowned as the new king. It was said to have a deep scar under his eye so his looks would be even scarier. In those times it was a tragedy for a monarch to be scared. If a noble woman had a scar, she could not marry the king.

That’s what I love the most about Suga’s music. He tells stories through it. Listening to his songs feels like having a friend share their story with me in such a real and unique way. Even in BTS’s songs, he writes most of the lyrics for the group. There are so many songs I really vibe with, and that’s why I’ve fallen this hard for BTS’s music. Artists like them are rare, bro. The things they talk about are always relatable, and they bring such good energy because the message and melody hit just right.

Loved the harmonization, guys! And the laughter at the start, super contagious-thank you! I can't wait for you guys to watch RUN BTS. This was my theme outfit style DAECHWITA! Good job spotting Jin & Jungkook make a special appearance catch quarreling in the background market after AGUST D bumped into Jin & Jungkook!😂 It was pure bliss for being thankfully able to check off my wish list, "If SUGA ever decides to do a solo tour, I want to make it my goals to attend" even before he ever announced his solo tour last year!! Incredible & still the best ever of all time. I've always been going to concerts ever since High school in honor of my younger brother who passed away back in 2007 because we both used to go together. We enjoyed all kinds of music together, even sang during our school years & to this day! I've learned that BTS are so dear to me that various moments each one reminds me of both my brotbers who've passed on & I'mattached to BTS especially SUGA because if how much they've helped me process grief! I am always impressed with Yoongi's skills in storytelling in all of his music videos alon with the rest of the members! He definitely NEVER says away with hard topics to discuss personally, especially about mental illnesses or very deep & dark things he's dealt with. He's superior in his lyrical skills & conveys so much swag & confidence, too! You're gonna love jumping down the rabbit hole in his journey through his solo mixtapes & album in an eloquently framed storyline! Love all the symbolism & it feels like a mini movie when you watch each one 😊 Even at his tour, his entire show from start to finish was like a movie experience that he told a story that was none like any other artists expeience & stage production!

So diffent, unique, still Yoongi's introvert side expanding on a more intimate, low-key setting

Agust D is Suga DT which stands for Daegu Town where he's from. A Daechwita is a song played upon a kings arrival, there are also other translations. BTS videos are often filled with a lot of meaning, paying attention to lyrics is often vital to understanding the meaning deeper than surface level! While it's fun to have favorites and biases, all the members are equal and bring something different to the group so it's okay to like all of them instead of having a favorite lol I strongly encourage you to do some research on what this trilogy is about, it reflects often on the different parts of suga and his success is killing off the parts of him that keep him in hung up in the past. Amydala is essentially the story of his mental health struggle starting with his moped accident where he was hit by a car several years ago. The amydala is the brains emotional response center to pain and fear and it is called the almond of the brain.

Suga said he drew the storyboard for Daechwita 6 months before he started writing the song. His friend El Capitxn helped with the music and helped produce it. When Suga sent him the traditional drum sound even they did not realise how big it would become with its oriental trap beat. Daechwitta was one-off the most expensive mvs BTS produced at that time largely because of hiring the famous historical landmark, which is why Suga paid for it out of his own pocket. As it quickly gained popularity and the 10 million likes on Utube.His belief in his project was justified. The DT stands for Daegu Town, his hometown and name of his very first rep crew when he was known as Gloss( the meaning of Yoongi his Christian name) it now has over 400 million views on UTube

Hey guys, I was away for 6 weeks but I'm back. When you guys talk about BTS you have all my attention. Especially when it comes to my bias (SUGA). Suga is a talented guy, in different directions we think he has a dark side, who doesn't. There are so many things said about Suga, as we all know, but his followers don't care, Suga loves reading books and one of them is Almond, a very interesting book, I have read it and I understand him better now. I always try to to crawl into his head. I say my head is full of spider webs and I also think Min Yoongi is full of them, we can go in all directions for someone to tell the whole world such personal things about yourself, you have to be very strong. .Therefore it is very important to understand his Lyrics. Now I'm learning Hangeul, what a beautiful language. Charlie-Ben- Sed I'm proud of you, thank you guys.

So Suga is my co bias with Jin. For so many reasons. You REALLY need to pay attention to the lyrics. Especally in Amigdala. He tells you the story you are wondering about. He is one of the main songwriters in BTS. He writes a song EVERY DAY. He is the youngest member of the SK songwriters' assiciation (or something like that. Lol) He is also one of the producers on a lot of their songs. His lyrics are always so good. He brings the edge to BTS BUT he also can be super cutsie & hes written some more poppy songs, like Telepathy for ARMY during the Pandemic & See-Saw (a fan favorite) shows his duality. Its a bop! And always remember, when you see him dancing in any performance, practice or MV before 2020, hes doing it every time with a totally messed up shoulder from the accident shown in the "Amigdala" video. Hes doing REALLY HARD chorio, for like 8 hours a day in practice. Then performances, in so much pain. And he never told ANYONE for 8 YEARS because he was afraid hed be cut from the group & he didnt want to be a burden. The pills you see him taking in the "Amigdala" video were prescription painkillers. Which were so hard for him cause he's anti drugs. He wants to be a psychiatrist one day. He studid it in collage. They ALL went to collage while being in BTS. I have no idea HOW.💜
