Though, TOP writes his own rapping part. Yes, GD is a genius, in my opinion. Writing, producing, directing, composing from the start. One reason they can't be compared to others during their time, they've inspired so many younger idols to work hard to become artists. "Lies" was written and composed by GD, one of the greatest hit and still a great song until today.

It's funny how they started as a hiphop group, but can create a ballad that just hits you in the feels. Theur diversity has shown their versatility over the years. I so miss BIGBANG, and their music. I haven't heard the original version of these songs in forever. I usually go for the live versions because BigBang rearranges these songs so many times over the years. I think Haru Haru has at least 5 versions that they only do live. Also what would kpop be without BigBang's creativity? So much of what kpop is now didn't come from the huge entertainment companies it came from these 5 guys. They popularized idols dyeing their hair bright colors, popularized mini albums, make it okay for idols to write and produce their own music, Brought high end fashion too kpop starting airport fashion, made it okay for members to do solo projects and stay in the group, made hip-hop mainstream in Kpop and changed how groups were formed because they now all needed a rap line like BigBang. So much of kpop's unique style came from the industry copying BigBang.

It's crazy to say but all songs are my favorite. I especially like "A Fool of tears" and "Cafe" and the songs of the subunits of GD and Top and GD with TY. Also "Wings" of Daesung. I don't have a favorite member, I like them all. But maybe maybe my bias is GD. And I am so angry with Seungri for putting at risk their careers. He was also an excellent singer and performer. Why did you do that Little Seung Hyung?? Sadly without Top's rap lyrics and voice will not be the same for BB. But we can always keep on playing their music.

If you remember the scene where Taeyang, Daesung, CL and Blackpink went over to comfort him. Taeyang told GD that he received Top's message and say that he's sorry(about the OD) and GD said he did received his text too but didn't reply

I’m Chinese, and in China, BIGBANG and G-dragon are on another level. On music platforms, BB has 14 million fans and GD has nearly 8 million fans, and even though they haven’t returned for a long time, they are still the kpop artists with the most fans, ranking first and second. Especially G-dragon is a name that even ordinary people who don’t listen to music know in China. "Last Dance" was emotional for VIPs because it was prior to TOP departing for the military and felt like a goodbye song. "Flower Road" was released when he was in the military as a request from BIGBANG for fans to please wait for them. Then everything happened and VIPs waited for five years, wondering if they'd ever come back since we had waited for them as they asked. Both "Last Dance" and "Flower Road" were extremely heartbreaking for VIPs after the start of the long hiatus. That time was extremely painful for VIPs and we were fighting daily against the waves of hate that were nonstop and beyond cruel. During this time many of us graduated school, got jobs, started families, and had grown up... and yet we were all waiting until the day we got a notification finally announcing that their hiatus was over. "Still Life" was announced and BIGBANG came back to tell us that they had missed up and were going to continue forward in their lives, even if it meant that they'd be apart from each other. I got home from work and sobbed while watching the music video. Especially when TOP showed his face clearly for the first time in years. Shortly after, TOP announced that he had left BIGBANG to pursue his own interests and the members left YG one by one. They never announced that BIGBANG had come to a definite halt, but left it open as a possibility of releasing more music together. Since then, they've slowly released their own solo work and other projects. VIPs support them completely (although we joke about GD releasing shoes over albums lately). I think VIPs will always love BIGBANG and cherish those happy years we spent together. At least for me, I know that I'll hold those happy moments and our "last dance" in my heart for the rest of my life. They were days where I was truly happy and BIGBANG still stands as a representation of my youth in my own life story. We can never go back to those carefree days, but I'll always support BIGBANG's members on their journeys. By the way! In "Haru Haru", the girl found out that she was dying of cancer so she asked TOP to help her lie to GD. She wanted to break up with him and make him hate her so it wouldn't hurt as much when she died. She gave the couple ring she wore with GD to TOP, and GD mistook it as TOP taking his girl. He fought with him and it broke him to see them together. However, his friends all knew that she was sick and Taeyang finally called him and told him that she was going into surgery. So GD ran to the hospital and TOP gave him back the couple ring and said that they had lied to him. Realizing that she had always loved him, GD ran to be as close as he could with her but she died.

It's my 12th year as a VIP (BIGBANG fan), it was hard for me to listen to "Still Life" and it still is. They've helped me through a lot through their music and their personality in reality shows. They always took care of their fans. I played BIGBANG songs in happiness, sadness, I literally grew up with them. So when the "scandal" came out I know it wouldn't be the same again. I wasn't even sure TOP was gonna show his face in the 'Still Life' MV but when he did, I bawled my eyes out. I am so thankful for them and I will continue to support BIGBANG as a 3 member group and TOP as a solo artist.

I love BIGBANG because although they debuted in 2006, they knew how to create their own style, a unique style. They did not focus on doing difficult choreography, they focused on transmitting their songs through their lyrics, their expressions and their voices. If you watch their live performances you will see how they shine simply by being themselves. That's why I can connect very easily with them ❤ I respect all groups, but nowadays I can't find any group that I can compare with Bigbang. They marked a before and after in the K-pop industry.

What's interesting about BIGBANG songs is that they have a sad, heartbreaking lyrics but the music or melody is a banger or hyped. majority of their songs, maybe 90-95% are written by g-dragon. but TOP writes his rap parts for the songs. they have japanese songs, and those were written by others. the other songs from their 1st albums were written by others too. but once haru haru (written by gd) became a hit, they got the creative freedom after that.

BLUE is BIGBANG's state of mind during their dark times. The time when BIGBANG almost broke up coz of bad issues/scandal. That time when they thought their group won't make it but they still survived the dark times. They released the ALIVE ALBUM where BLUE was included as one of its title tracks. Both BLUE and FANTASTIC BABY are part of ALIVE ALBUM. Hence the similarity of BIGBANG members' clothes. FANTASTIC BABY is actually a statement or declaration that the KINGS ARE BACK since ALIVE ALBUM was a comeback album after the dark times they suffered from. FANTASTIC BABY was an FU song to those who wanted BIGBANG's downfall.

They can tell a story in a song so well, and YES their LIVE is so good, because they incorporate all the audience into their songs too. Whether they are slow or fast. RnB, Hip Hop all contemporary, they can do it all. You spoke alot about TOP's rap and sound. TOP & G Dragon brought rap and hip hop to Kpop. I dont know if anyone explained it already but the MV for Haru Haru is about GDragon and this girl who are in love. The girl has cancer and doesnt want to tell GDragon because he will be sad. So she breaks up with him and tells TOP to pretend to be her new boyfriend. Thats why GDragon is so mad and is fighting TOP. Later while in the hospital Taeyang calls GD and tells him she has cancer. But in the end it was worthless since she died.

Your reaction feels genuine ❤ They debuted backk in 2006, they had it rough since their trainees years. YG were a small company, with few artists. So being said, bigbang were not given much budget. During their trainees they live in rat infested room, with barely had food to eat. They had to do errands for their seniors, cleaning (like chores for the company) etc then train. Especially Taeyang(he really came from a poor family) and Gdragon since they were YG trainee longer. Then they debuted, Bigbang members had to fund a lot from their own pocket. They received quite a lot of negativity for bringing something new in the industry for first few years. They were called ugly and made fun of. Since they were very different from normal idol. And their music genre was new to South Korea. They originally more to hiphop and r&b but through out years they are not afraid to try different genres. They have a lot of control on their music and a lot like the producing of their album(write and produce), album concept,concert. Despite working with few other YG producers, they still produces a lot of their song by themselves. Gdragon, taeyang & top is in top 10 richest south korean idol because of these. But because of their attitude they actually manage to make a name for themself, they become the legendary of kpop industry. Even after many years, their name would constantly be spoken by younger kpop artist. They were their idols. The first to a lot of things. Nowadays many younger generation kpop fans would discredit Bigbang but still that would not change a fact. Most of people i know are not really interested in kpop but if you mention bigbang or play their songs they would definitely know it. And some say bigbang is their only exception. Till these days people still know them despite their hiatus. Undisputed on their throne. Thank you, for the amount of patience and attention you gave their music. Big Bang might not have the biggest numbers, but they paved the way for K-Pop. The amount of influence BigBang, and particularly G-Dragon, have over the industry is massive. You should give G-Dragon’s “Untitled, 2014” a try, although it might be a tear-jerker.
