She signed with the wrong label, unfortunately. She probably signed with MBK, because of T-ara, but MBK caught lighting in a bottle with T-ara. They haven't been able to replicate T-ara's success since, and apparently they even had a falling out with T-ara. MBK is a sh!t show for lack of a better word. Ultimately, I'm actually happy for Shannon. She sounds like a chill, laidback person, and I heard she loves streaming video games. If she still has a passion for singing and song writing, she can pursue it anytime, because she has a platform.

Still so sad that she wasn't given the recognition she deserves. Her singing is just so good! I wonder if it's because back then Korean isn't as accepting of non-Korean (or mix) as idols like nowadays? Or would she gotten more popular if she promoted with a Korean name? As someone who was a fan of Shannon pre-debut I have some corrections: She didn't debut in 2011. She debuted in 2015. For a year or so she was slated to be joining 5dolls and was briefly confirmed before they changed their minds and allowed her to debut as a soloist but even then it took too long.

It was such a shame that her company is terrible at managing their artists 😔 It makes me so angry to see how MBK can find and train a lot of great idols with so much potential, but got wasted away cause they just dont know how to treat their idols right (literally what happened to T-ara is enough to get them a punch in the face)

There was a lot of potential but theres an equally lot of singers who have fantastic talent but just don't make it big. Like Kang Mi-Jin when she got really popular in the voice. I really was rooting for her back when she debuted. I did not really like Waeyo waeyo but I loved her voice. I thought it was weird how there was no news of her so I decided to check it out and how sad it is she was mismanaged. I would have loved to see her showcase her true vocal talent and music genre.
