I feel like everglow-up's content was at its best when she was discussing stage presence because she brought something new to the kpop community with her classification system for stage presence but now she has slowly started to become like any other hateful ktube channel.

She’s always been like any other channel to be honest the main thing that set her apart and caught everyone’s attention was the WAY she went about discussing her opinions. It didn’t feel like she was rushing through it to get to the next one. She explained herself eloquently and wasn’t just “whatever” about her opinions. She tried not to be disrespectful or rude in the beginning until it became trendy & therefore she started being more blunt in her honesty. It was the way she went about it and also her editing. Then everything else came along like the stage presence rankings.

The only person i will call kind of a feminist is soyeon cause she write her own lyrics and most of her lyrics in her title songs are women empowerment

the "women empowerment" is the only thing that is saving gidle rn. the one and only reason behind their songs to go viral is bcuz how "feminists, women empowerment" their songs are. and soyeon is aware of that too. she knows kpop stans gonna eat up anything that has words like "no man needed" "im this im that" etc.. cuz majority of kpop fandom right now is filled with teenagers and young adults, and shes making profit out of it. gidle stans out there comparing other female idols and shaming male idols, and calls everything misogynists when things dont go the way they wanted. and its literally obvious that they CHOSE those themes to get money ,fame. cuz all their new releases are getting worser and worser. now its like they're made for tiktok or other social media apps. the quality of their music decreased as they decided to make songs for money and fame lets be honest here.

Apart from titles like "Super Lady" and "Queen Card," I don’t see any connection between feminism. Titles like "nude" or "tomboy." Aren’t feminists imo, dressing in a way that resembles or is inspired by males doesn’t necessarily empower women-in fact, it can be the opposite. I'm not suggesting it's wrong for women to dress in a way that's traditionally associated with males, but it's important to recognize that such choices don't inherently represent feminism. Additionally, I don’t believe that women taking off their clothes equates to empowerment either:)

@@mohhhhhhhhgjghvcyNxde is about the oversexualisation of women and sexual liberation, it empowers women to dress how they want and express themselves how they want. I would for sure call it a feminist song.

In korea they've literally been boycotting and protesting on the streets. The idols know, and many Koreans have made it known that they aren't messing with Starbucks. A lot of those little feminism comments just seem like slt shaming. Weird.

I'm not shaming anyone because it's dead ass what 'modern' feminism is like .. I support feminism .. but not the one where women expose themselves for self-worth or claim they're empowering one another when it's clear most women are looking for validation from men

i've seen people acting like yunjin pulled a lizzy and drove drunk when she just drank starbucks.. like yes idols are wealthier and thus can get more ethical coffee but at the same time.. we're in a world where theres like 6 companies controlling everything else and it isnt possible to consume anything ethically unless getting it from some small family run cafe which probably uses nestle products. shareholders are also a thing.

I love your take in this video. I genuinely dont get why people feel the need to bully the hell out of someone on the internet just bcs they used a products that we’re supposed to boycott. If u see someone out there walking with starbuck in their hands,you don’t go up to them and say ‘fuck you and fuck your whole life’. That would be hella rude 💀 Educating them would be the best option. This also goes for anything. If an artists/famous individuals make mistake,you dont straight up cancel them. u educate them. even if they did know about what’s happening,it still doesn’t justify bullying. Its kinda sad that ppl these days underestimating bullying and think its cool to act like that to someone. tbh,If you really care abt 🇵🇸 ,you wouldn’t spend hours of your time bullying and hating a person just bcs they didn’t boycott 🤷🏽‍♀️it’s going to drift away the main focus on why we’re boycotting in the first place. just educate them and MOVE ON 😭 Leave them alone,if they refuse to boycott then that’s on them. I don’t think we should make ‘ew this person doesn’t boycott’ our whole personality. Like come on,there are so many other things you can do that would ACTUALLY help the situation instead of shitting on people’s ass bcs they didnt boycott. Bullying people aint gon get us anywhere. And this is coming from a person who practically boycott some things as well. Even before the 7th Oct occurred. I deeply understand why people are upset with Cheryl,it is a sensetive topic to discuss and her whole video is very triggering imo. I also think she didn’t have a full understanding on what happened in 🇵🇸. It also irks me,how people can be so ignorant to refuse to boycott even though they know about what’s going on,but i never go out of my way to bully them because i know it’s not gonna change anything abt them. That’s their life and if they want to fuck it over then that’s not my problem. There are other things that I should focus on as well. So there’s no need to continuously bully someone bcs of it. To me at least,when you’re literally a student with no money to spend on donation but you really want to help,the only valuable thing you can do is to boycott. But it’s so annoying when you cant even do that bcs u have these people screaming and screeching in your ear about the fact that boycotting aren’t gonna do anything. Like get off my ass for ONCEEE 🤦🏽‍♀️ if u wnna go and eat mcdonald and drink starbuck while also knowing what it’ll do then i genuinely dgaf 😭 like i really don’t. I can’t really do anything about it if you refuse to boycott,so YOU DO YOU. For fucks sake stop hopping on my d-ck just because I boycott 💀
@cowbearrie
@cowbearrie 6 ай бұрын
its also almost impossible to boycott most stuff. like there are a few companies that own every other little thing, nestle for example. same thing happened with 2020 blm, people cared more about looking good than actually caring for victims. it became a contest of who's the best boycotter and who's signed most petitions rather than "let's actually support the victims". people will repost every palestine tiktok they see then you ask them about one thing actually going on in the war and they dont know sht because they. dont. actually. care. sorry for the yap btw

I disagree with some takes, especially with the sltshaming ones, but I do agree that a lot of the Kpop so-called “feminists and female empowerment” songs aren’t genuine because they feel forced and are obviously targeted to a western female audience. Unfortunately, S.Korea in general has a more distorted view on feminism, being an extremely patriarchal society, so that probably contributes more to the problem. *** About the Everglowup situation: boycotting is a way to express disappointment and dislike towards a company, so going against or being indifferent of the boycott shouldn’t be a surprise; I kind of accepted that as soon as you make your opinions known, there’s always going to be backlash. Might I add that, although I do encourage boycotting companies, I still believe that’s just a small step that a collective can take to make their voices heard, but Starbucks or Disney or McDonald’s aren’t members of the UN; the States should be the main focus, not people drinking a Starbucks coffee, or watching stuff on Disney+, or eating a Big Mac. People giving senseless hate don’t even recognise those companies have showed support to Israel because the governments showed support FIRST.

her comments on the sexualization of minors in the K-Pop industry also come off as victim blaming she was creating a moral panic and throwing a hissy fit over Wonyoung's performance of "Side to Side" by Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj jumping to conclusions saying that it's "a song made by grown women talking about sex" she also made the same comments about Yeri (Red Velvet's youngest member) doing the choreography for "Ice Cream Cake" Hyeri (Girl's Day's youngest member) doing the choreography for "Expectation" and ESPECIALLY Suzy (Miss A's youngest member) doing the dance choreography for "Bad Girl Good Girl" just because she was 15 at the time being against the sexual exploitation of minors is one thing but jumping to conclusions and dictating what type of music or clothing should be "age appropriate" for them is illogical! music doesn't need to have an age limit!

And you are right that age doesn't need a limit .. clothes and music need monitoring by the child's parents .. it's not our "say so" .. we are pretty powerless depending on the situation of minors being sexualized

Interesting video but please look for a better AI voice! if you can not find one, something that you can do is to use the "read out loud" function (i hope is translated like that in english) of the ai voice that the browser Edge has built in to read the text of the websites. For example you can text your script (it can be anywhere on the web that allows you to text, like in a comment section of a youtube video), click on "read out loud" (on the url the icon of the botton has the letter "A", next to the star icon to mark as favorite) and record an audio while the AI is reading. Edge has built-in ai voices that are very realistic and pleasent in many accents, it will improve the quality of the video drastically.

You make many good points here. I'm not a Kpop stan, I only follow a few older groups, so I can honestly say IDK this Cheryl. But bullying is never ok. The more mature thing to do would be just stop watching the content of a creator that you have come to dislike. Obviously voicing your opinion about what the creator did is fine, but personal attacks don't solve anything. Now my unapologetic opinion about the feminism trend is this. I understand how despicable the agencies are and they will latch onto any trend to market their groups. I think MMM is an outlier though. Their message is their own. Female empowerment is what they live, and were promoting long before it was trendy. I don't have issues so much with how groups express themselves, as long as it's truly their choice to do it, and they are not being exploited by their agency or market forces. I think the message itself is good unfortunately it has been polluted like you said.
@notaspeck6104
@notaspeck6104 6 ай бұрын
I would actually day the issue isn’t that the message has been polluted, it’s that people don’t know how to use labels. Feminism is women fighting to vote, feminism is women going into science and technology when no men wanted them there, feminism is not some manufactured lazy title to half assedly parade around to fill the pockets of some company or label. Like the fact that people use feminist as an insult is very telling, most of these people need to get of twitter and the internet and read a damn history book.
