It is a different perspective. Vocal coaches are different in different country. In Philippines POP music are not drowned with heavy autotunes or dubsteps. It is just a preference

She has a problem in her vocal cords that made her almost quit into singing but she still search of a way to sing again that's why her style is different. OMG! You just got introduced to our Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan! FYI, she used reverb in the intro. In an interview last year, she said that she intentionally uses reverb to catch her audience unaware and surprise them to get their attention. She joined The Singer 2018 (China) and she debuted on that show with this song. I recommend that you watch it as well, they tweaked the arrangement. I also recommend you react to her cover of Royals and Say Something.
