You will be eligible for monthly pension after paying contribution for 5 years (those who joined this scheme after 55 years of age). As per the rule you will get only Rs.3,000 per month (for those Pravasi joined this scheme after they returned from foreign country or other states)

Dear Aswathy Very sorry to hear your father's story. But as per my understanding your father will be eligible for medical expenses provided the membership is active and paid all subscription dues. In case your father need any immediate financial help, please ask him to contact me, I am happy to help him from my personal account. Please send me an email with details to the following email-ID [e-mail] he following are the clause related to reimbursement of medical expenses. A member is eligible for a treatment assistance for his admissible treatment expenses on production of the bills in original and Essentiality Certificate approved by the doctor concerned, subject to the maximum amount of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) during the entire period of his/her membership (upto the pension date). The treatment shall be made in the hospitals approved by the Board. However, if she/he received any financial assistance for the same claim from Central or State Govt. or any other agencies like Norka Roots, Local Self Department etc., is not eligible for the financial assistance from the Welfare Board. Pensioners are not eligible for treatment assistance.

My wife is getting pension exactly on the 5th of every month Rs 3500. We remitted the subscription yearly for a period of 6 years. They started sending the pension and to her bank account along with the excess amount paid for the extra period of one year. No need to go to any govt office and waste our time - we can send email to NORKA office, who will respond promptly. I am happy with this arrangement and their services. Ensure to keep all the receipts of payments as copies of these are required to be sent to Norka office on completion of our minimum period of 5 years and when we reach 60 years. Also every year we will have to send them by regd post - sometime in Feb, life certificate from a Gazeted officer. This is a headache. Tks to Kerala govt and NORKA's wonderful professional officers.

As per my understanding the dependents are eligible for family pension provided he/she pay the annual subscription up to 60 years or minimum five years for those become a member after the 55 years of age. But I will try to get more clarifications on this soon The following are the provision related to family pension. If a member who is eligible for super annuation pension has deceased, any one of his family members (wife, children below the age of twenty one years, insane children, major unmarried daughter, dependent mother, and dependent father) shall be eligible for family pension of an amount equivalent to fifty percent of the eligible pension of the deceased member.
