Carrot Halwa is a popular North Indian dessert. This is one of the simple and easy dessert with carrot . Pretty attractive and inviting dessert for a party or during any festive occasions. It is known by different names in different countries. In indian cuisine it is known as gajar halwa od carrot halwa. In arab cuisine, it is known as jazar Halwa. The ingredients required are handy and am sure most of us have all the ingredients required for making this yummy dessert at home. Vegetables in the form of desserts is the best choice. I love making carrot pudding, carrot Halwa etc often at home. We can prepare carrot Halwa in many ways. Though sweetened condensed milk is optional in carrot Halwa, the addition of condensed milk will give a richness to the Halwa for sure. Moreover it will change its taste and texture. So do try with and without adding condensed milk.
INGREDIENTS
Carrot grated - 2 cups
Milk full cream - 2 cups
Sugar - quarter a cup
Condensed milk - 1 tbsp, optional
Cardamom - 1 , optional
Ghee - 2 tsp
Salt
