This is technically not a title track. It was released as a promotional single for Queendom Finale, and served as a pre-release from I Trust album. In the same way that Allergy, Blow Your Mind, and I'm the Trend were. Oh My God is the official title track for this era.

LION is THAT song. I love the tribal epic sound, and the fact that all the members shine in this song makes it even better. The intro, the verses, the chorus, the outro... every single section is perfect. And ofc Soyeon's iconic rap section before adding an electric guitar going back to the last chorus... chef's kiss. This was my introduction to (G)I-dle and, safe to say, I was shocked by how good the song was. That same day I went and also listened to Hwaa, Hann, Señorita and another song you'll discover very soon... they were so different from any group I had heard until that point, and in just one day they became my favourite k-pop group (they're now 2nd only behind the ult group we both share). I used to play this song in the car to hype my daughter up before swim meets. This is my favorite (g)I-dle song as well as my favorite (g)I-dle music video. One of two underrated (in my opinion) music videos that I am always begging reactors to watch. The other is Come Back Home by Oneus, which is super epic if anybody was wondering.

Great seeing you all this hyped up Ross :D The time this one came out was during Queendom (obv) and I first didn´t realize that it was a brand new song ´cause I didn´t watch it at that time. So I clicked on a lyric video instead, expecting it to be fake because I wasn´t familiar with the "comeback concept" of the show yet. There also were no visuals, do I didn´t know what was coming at me. So, apparently, Soyeon made this masterpiece 1 year (!) after debuting. I don´t really know how to describe the feeling I had listening to it the first or second time or third time... it was just an epic experience. When Senorita came out, it was a different genre Idle went for. Though the b-sides of I Made give off a similar vibe to their first mini-album, imo. Then Uh-Oh came out and this was a whole new genre aswell. That moment made clear how diverse Idle and Soyeon as a songwriter really is, but maybe still not to the "public eye" (is this an existing term?). But getting a song that (still) is considered a masterpiece by a lot of kpop fans was hella surprising, for me at least... This was a huge jump for Idle and with Queendom they gained a lot of attention. Still kinda crazy to think back to this. There is no doubt in my mind that LION was the catalyst that made Idle to what we know and love today. Listening to it back then made my head spin. They were my fav group even before that but I couldn´t believe that they made a song THIS GOOD only one year into their career. Music and conpept-wise it was an total 180 for me... LION has a special place in my heart for the role that it had "reinventing" this group in one way or another. P.S. you don´t have to react to the queendom performance but you absolutely should at least watch it for yourself. If somehow you can manage to react, The LION QUEENDOM PERFORMANCE is a must see, its a live performance, but the production budget is equal to MV kpop production, G IDLE has one of the most excellent live performance for me, LION is way up there at the top, promise you will fall in love even more to this tune if you watch its QUEENDOM VERSION

Lion's in my top 10, there are some B-sides from this era that are up there as well. The live performance of it from Queendom probably puts it over some of those. Of the ones you've listened to so far, would be my number one.

For me, having DreamCatcher as my Ul Gou, (G)I-DLE is tied for Second-Place with a few other acts (Taeyeon as a Soloist, Red Velvet, Girls On Top, Pixy, Purple Kiss, Pink Fantasy, and really too many others...). So picking one favorite among thousands is ludicrous for me to even attempt. I just like music and I love K-Pop Music Videos. I enjoy too many different things to bother naming names. But (G)I-DLE is definitely up there and Lion is definitely up there.

Lion and Oh My God, for me, are peak IDLE. Not to say that subsequent songs are sub standard, but they just don't hit me the same as these two songs. I'd go so far as to say that they are my 2 favorite IDLE songs. And the MV's are masterpieces. Weirdly enough, this is where I started noticing Miyeon more. Not that I hadn't noticed her, or any of the other members, before this. It's just that she really didn't stand out that much and, for some reason, she started to stand out a lot more here. Soojin was still my bias at this point but Miyeon became a real contender for wrecker after this.
