It's a real tongue in cheek song lyrically. The first couple of verses and chorus is (imo) poking fun at how seriously influencers take themselves, but towrd the end BandMaid kinda says "but hey, we kinda do the same thing." A necessary evil, SM, it's all how you use it and to what ends.

@@GaryHolloway-810 Of course they do! Everybody tries to influence other people ... kids try to influence their parents to let them stay up late and parents try to influence their kids to take their bath and go to bed. Teenagers try to influence their crush to go on a date with them, and advertisers try to influence consumers to buy their products. As @bandmaidfanATL says, it's how honest and open you are about what you're doing. I try to influence people on the internet to take Band-Maid seriously. Seriously.

"B" sides, eh? *"Unfair Game"* or *"Matchless Gum"* immediately come to mind. It is almost uncanny how practically all the "B" sides equal or outshine their "A" sides. I think they should put out a rarities album of "B" sides and bonus tracks and title it _"Besides."._ It would surpass a lot of other "best of" albums, maybe even their own! Here's a proposed track list. You can find most of these on their youtube channel, under "Releases," in the playlist for the individual single: Summer Drive Unfair Game Matchless Gum Onset (instrumental) Choose Me Screaming Hide-and-Seek Don't Be Long (instrumental) Smile Hibana Honey (MUCC cover) Youth

I find it is distracting to try to watch the video and the lyrics at the same time, until several listens, anyway, as Band-Maid music is so intense, hard not to pay attention to the musicality first! I'll add to the "There are no "B" sides with Band-Maid, just more "A" side included with the title track! "Corallium" and "Hibana" are the other songs from the Sense ep, and both are fire! Yes, Kanami going full Mincho Mode in the solo! I also love the galloping drum beat in this song! And as always, MISA, MISA, MISA! The vocals are next level too!

Band-Maid doesn’t really have ‘B’ Sides, they’re all ‘A’s😅. Most of their B sides are better than the A’s. Corallium would be a good B side from their “Sense” single. There’s a great live version out there recently performed at Eggman, a venue they played frequented during their early years.

The one most important thing about the Ladies of Band-Maid and their music that most of us appreciate them for, is the fact that they serve the SONG, not their egos. I don't know how many songs I've heard where it's the instrumentalists and the lead singer basically masturbating musically "PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!", that Band-Maid serving the SONG!!! is so groundbreaking and enjoyable. I've found that many if not most of the Japanese bands I have found through listening to Band-Maid are the same. They serve the SONG, not their EGO.

It took two listens for me to fully get into the music, because it, at first, seemed a little out of their norm. I'm all in now. They do a stellar job of gently mocking people who develop fake personalities to present as a social media presence but understand that there are good things about it as well. They don't take themselves too seriously, they just make their case and crank out the logical extension of the rock 'n' roll that I grew up with in the '70s and '80's.

For me at least, it's very noticeable that many of the Japanese bands give all their members the opportunity to shine. I guess it has to do with their mentality which affects everything from songwriting to mixing studio or live tracks. Admittedly, B-M's live recordings in particular have been sometimes a bit of a mess, but even these recordings are still better than almost anything you get here in the West. At least in my opinion. 🤷🏻♂ _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. Hey dude! Appreciate the feedback. So on my channel, you may notice I don't pause, there's a few reasons for this. I just can't enjoy music when pausing, music needs to be experienced all in one for me. So you're not the first to suggest this and you won't be the last, so hopefully with what I say next, answers why I personally don't really 'react' to lyrics. 1) Just simply, while I like lyrics, they are one of the last of many, many reasons why I love music. I love music (on it's most basic level) is for the sounds, whether they be from a voice or an instrument. 2) I actually have tried all the different ways you suggested in the past and it just didn't work sadly. I got attacked in the comments everytime I did it because I got the lyrics wrong (I'm not the best interpreter of lyrics). So you can imagine, when I don't have too much of an interest into going into lyrics (most of the time, there are exceptions), and then get attacked for trying something. It really put me off doing it again. 3) This one is more technical, I screen-record separately from watching on all reactions, so pausing would be a nightmare. I watch all the content on my TV. 4) So I moderate and read EVERY comment that comes through on my channel. I would much rather read about (which I do), what the lyrics or song's meaning is or theories from YOU GUYS than try and fail on camera haha. Hope that has answered why I do videos the way I do. Thanks for being respectful with your feedback, not everyone takes that approach. Much Love, Ross x
