If anyone of you are reading this, you too can do what Bo does. Start small, paint still lifes, anyone can learn how to render metal or leather. It’s not magic, I promise you. The stuff that takes a little longer is learning figure drawing and composition but it can be learned. I wish you the best of luck on your journey 🛶

Thank you so much for this, it means a lot to me! As someone who's learning more about digital painting and splash art in particular, Bo is my biggest inspiration. And someday I'll be as good as him, and I'm gonna work for riot too

I've been digitally drawing for about ~8 months, I'm on the brink of giving up since I've seen little improvements but I'm not going to since I enjoy doing this and giving up is the last thing I want to do. To everyone who reads this, we can do it! :)

I use this method too, however I don't have fancy gadgets or a stylus or anything like that so it's harder for me to clean the sketch up since I do my art by finger om my phone, other than that love this technique though honestly

I'm thinking, did bo chen made the buildings/bg/animal designs on his own? Or did he have references on how they should look? Because splash arts give out a lot of info on lore so I'm not sure if they're official designs from Riot or Bo Chen made them on a whim and now they're official.
