I've wanted to install the K-Speed Rear Sets on my 2019 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 since they were launched earlier this year. In this video I'm going to walk you step-by-step on how to install the rear sets on your Royal Enfield to make it more aggressive of a ride.

I want to be honest with everything that I do, I’d be lying to you and the rest of KZbin if I started saying I’ve done this before b/c that would be a lie. Through my trial and error, you now have the knowledge to succeed with the install.

Sure, but why not practice it first?

@@grahambutler5025 How do you practice an installation? I'm not going to install something, to remove it, to install it again. My style of videos especially for this build is that I'm not an expert, Im learning every step of the way. I'm not going to lie about how easy the process was for everyone on the internet when it in fact was not documented anywhere.

Hey Joey, 3 things: 1. what was the cost of the parts and shipping; 2. I would like to see your body position on the bike with the new peg location; 3. what is the deal with that space (the warehouse you are working in), is it a business or a rich friend's garage? Also, what are the other bikes in the background.
@BurtoniMotors

Hey Dom, basically $600 for all the parts I ordered from K-Speed (Rear Sets, Clip Ons, Light Bracket, etc). I'll work on a video for the body positions, don't worry! The location is the showroom at my friend's company.

I think you forgot to transfer your return spring on the breaks. There is a little screw on the plate you can loosen to attach it, and then re-tighten. Then there is a hole on the break itself. Also I think you forgot to use the provided spacers with the main mounting bolts. The levers will be angled out f you don't. Not sure if that was just your test fit I saw though. Good tut though. I used this to do mine.

Have you run into any problems with the shift peg colliding with the tension rod? Also struggling to fit the return spring on the break pedal, this is causing the rear break to rub. Any pointers would be great!!

@@morganhertzfeld8905 There is a video on my channel where I do close ups on how I did it. It is an addendum to this video. There are a few points he didn't cover here. I think you might have forgotten to us the spacers that came with the kit for the tension rod issue you are having, maybe? That would put it out of alignment with the pegs too close to the frame. Also, make sure you have that piece at the front, holding the front part of the tension rod, seated all the way down on gear changing knob. It will go all the way down over it. The spring was kind of a pain. I think stuck it through the hole and then used pliers to get it over the screw. I remember getting the spring off the original was harder than installing it. But there are closeups of both these areas of concern in my video.

@@OakInch love the video! You installed yours exactly as I did mine. I was able to finally get the spring but it was definitely finicky. The tension rod is still causing me issues however. It appears it’s installed exactly like yours but I still get a considerable amount of running on the rod itself nearly every time the shifter is moved up or down.

@@morganhertzfeld8905 Are you sure you have the piece at the front of the rod seated all the way on the gear changing knob with all the teeth on it? When I did mine, i didn't have it all the way on at first and that will cause the rod to poke out. It goes on pretty deep, but it will sit partially on and want to stop. And make sure it is pointed up. If the rod is sticking out more in the front, and rubbing, it is probably not seated as far as it should be. With everything assembled, I have only about 1/4-3/16 inch between the screw on that front part of the assembly, where the rod is connected, and the engine case. I can't even slide my pinky behind it.

Show us the end result. How far are the footpegs set back now? Also, do they still fold? If not, then they are illegal where i live.
