Shouldn't they take it easy on the motor since its rebuilt? (Break it in)
@tylerglass28846 жыл бұрын
Shneekee you should get on it a bit. Babying it doesnt help the rings seat quite as well. A ton of high hp drag cars will just run a few pulls at wot on the dyno with some high zinc break in oil the switch it for their traditional oil and go racing.

I think you need to add a weld bead to the end of all those aluminum coolant pipes you made. If you don't, there is a good chance you'll blow a hose off once it build pressure. Think of what happens with intercooler piping with smooth pipe. Only you'll dump all the hot coolant/water all over. And for a radiator cap go the junk yard and grab a degas bottle off something. That's basically a coolant over flow bottle with a radiator cap on it. You make it the highest part of the cooling system and all the air will work itself out of the system and you have an easy way to completely fill it. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see that thing making boost and tearing up the streets!

For the alternator try and find a 4 groove pulley (or how many grooves you need)that has the same "OD" as the 5 groove one,and just use spacers to adjust for the belt. I rebuild alternators and starters for a living if you have enough threads for the nut on the rotor shaft then you're golden.

It's not bad on a car that came factory that way so it's a manual rack or manual box... But power steering racks ran without it generally suck ass. You gotta take them apart and take seals out and shit. Plus they usually don't have a good ratio for it. All wheel drive would make it suck to the ultimate level lol

The first coolant port you pointed out under the throttle body is actually the PCV. It's should be fine to have it blocked off since it looks like you have the breather on the valve cover open. You can use an EP3 upper pulley if you want to use a 7 rib belt with the factory auto tensioner. The part numbers are 31175-PRA-000, 31185-PCX-003, 31190-RRA-A00 and 90031-PRA-000.

Guys, that red lower radiator 90 elbow was cut WAY too short. It's now a flow restriction. You need to get one with longer straights after the bend.
@Fopeano6 жыл бұрын
There should be 2 unused connectors on the engine harness right next to each other. That is where the subharness with the alternator plug connects to everything to be switched on. If you look at wiring diagrams, you can figure out how to wire the alternator directly to the engine harness. You can order a connector kit for the alternator from Corsa Technic part number TS909-4S-1.
@Matthew-jn4jk6 жыл бұрын
I worked on a similar Honda motor in the past, replaced the started but accidentally damaged a coolant line removing the intake manifold. When I put it all back together, the idle surged EXACTLY like that and the culprit was me introducing air into the cooling system and spent a good amount of time bleeding it out. It returned to normal idle after getting the air out.
@brandonwellz0076 жыл бұрын
Hey Kyle love the work! If this is a K series Engine the port you blocked off by the alternator that you were calling a cooling port is actually the K series PCV location. You blocking that off is going to cause positive crank pressure which I know you know about allthis stuff. Hoping you see this before any damage is done. Continue the great work!

@hmmmyes69346 жыл бұрын
Pro tip: don't use razor blades or anything sharp to remove old gaskets you could gauge the surface and make it not seal properly when you're putting on the new gasket, especially if you're working on heads, differentials and oil pans. And always when working on the heads or differentials cover the inside with a clean bag as to not get old gasket material in it. (I'd advise you to use plastic scrapers to not damage the metal) P.S awesome vids, love your channel.

You need the aicv for your car to idle correctly, it controls the solenoid inside the intake manifold. You also should check to make sure that there are no vacuum lines for power steering behind the intake manifold. I had a civic that’s idle sounded exactly like that and I had to cap off the vacuum line
