Hi Chef! We Filipinos love Korean food. In my city alone, there are over 25 Korean restaurants, groceries, and many more Filipino-owned Korean street food outlets. Koreans have been migrating to the Philippines over the past 3 decades to learn English and as a result we Pinoys eventually evolved a craving for Korean cuisine. In fact, eating Korean food in my home ranging from kimchi to their spicy noodles is no different from our habit of cooking and eating our Filipino dishes. The ironic thing is that although the US has had a profound influence on my country, Korea has overtaken the US when it comes to our preference for foreign dishes. And we are pretty well-versed in identifying and pronouncing names of Korean food :)

Chef Curtis and Chaya, the spicy, long white one is called teok, a Korean native rice cake, and the dish is tteokbokki (sounds like toppoki). The spicy, flat one is called eomuk, fish cake, which is a Korean version of fish ball. Filipinos love Korean foods like me. It is an acquired taste, but in no time you will come to like them. Nice try!

I’m glad you guys are mixing it up with other Asian food cultures and yes I come from a mixed background (African American and Filipino) so to see different foods is quite refreshing. Vietnamese is another cultural flavor bomb and yes Chef Curtis it’s delicious and definitely POPPIN’. Until your next video……… stay true to your food/flavors/fans……………..PEACE✌🏽

Chef , I don’t think the crab is totally raw . They probably hot steamed the crab mildly lol 😂 I could be mistaken ha ha ha. .. next please I want to see a cooking in the bayou restaurant .. the Louisiana type of cooking chef .. I’m sure there’s one in Los Angeles.. ha ha ha thanks . That place was looking good ..

the long chewy one is a rice cake, the one you said tofu was fish cake, nice to see you try something new, not always filipino dishes, love to see you try chinese cuisine or other asian dishes

Very disappointed..because the food was totally underwhelming The side dishes were good so I had high expectations for the mains. We ordered soy sauce raw crab, uni bowls, soy sauce scallops, fish roe soup, and braised short ribs. The fish roe soup and uni bowls were ok, nothing special. The soy sauce raw crabs though were so disappointing - the crabs weren't fresh with little to no meat and the sauce was weak and flavorless. The braised short ribs were super tough and hard to eat, these should be soft and fall off the bone. The high price is pretty standard for crabs and seafood, but honestly even if this place were cheaper I wouldn't come back
