The 2002-2006 RSX, 2002-2005 EP3, 2006-2011 8th Gen Civic Si, 2012-2015 9th gen Civic Si, and 2004-2008 Acura TSX all have a known issue with their factory clutch master cylinders (CMC). If you look at the CMC on these cars more closely, you'll notice that all of these models have a triangular shaped feedback plate positioned at the very end of the cylinder. This plate is basically a secondary valve that was designed to slow down the clutch engagement and reduce shock to the clutch itself and the surrounding drivetrain parts. This setup might be perfectly fine for people that just drive their cars for simple daily use, but the delayed engagement can cause wear to the synchros and possibly even the gears on performance applications. The reason is fairly simple, the factory CMC delays the clutch operation, so it does not open fast enough to keep up with a fast shift. This means that pressure is being applied to the transmission synchros during the shift, before they are ready for the actual gear change.
The K-Tuned Clutch Master Cylinder Upgrade Kit was designed to completely replace the original factory cylinder and offer real time clutch engagement to support faster shifting. We have put together a complete bolt-on kit that includes a direct replacement CMC, our high pressure 3AN clutch line, plus all of the necessary fittings needed for installation. The factory clutch fluid reservoir is reused and connected the same way it was in stock form. The only thing we suggest is checking out your slave cylinder on the trans to confirm it is leak free. Aside from that, installation is pretty simple, install the parts and bleed the system using some new clutch fluid.

Just got mine & the fitting for the hose seems really loose. Moves clockwise & counter clockwise easily as well as up & down slightly. Is this normal???.

hey man i know this video is pretty old... but i got a 2012 Civic Si... and last night i was driving a long... and all of a sudden my clutch pedal would just basically go to the floor with just about no feeling to it at all..... i was able to still shift and stuff... but i was only feeling the clutch grabbing at basically the very end of the pedal... i just got my clutch done from the dealer and it cost me a god damn arm and a leg..... so i am just not going back for that shit again.... but i think after researching its my CMC that must be going bad because the symptoms of what is happening are exactly what people say when you CMC is going out..... so i bought this kit... i been wanting to buy it anyways for a couple years now since i have owned the car but now that i think my CMC is going out i feel its the best time to get it.... hopefully though that is my issue i am having because its my only car i dont have another one to get around and honestly dont really have the money anymore to have the dealer charge me a arm and a leg just to have shit go wrong again a couple months down the road

​@@mattanderson1890 yup it sure did when i pulled out my old Master Cylinder the push rod thing that the pedal pushes was extremely floppy and just wore out... after replacing with this kit it feels way better and stiffer than stock... this kit was for sure worth it compared to stock

My clutch went to the floor a few days back, assuming its my cmc. Any tips you can remember that i need to know about while installing it?

@@mattanderson1890 eh not that i can think of i mean its honestly pretty dang easy.... i think the hardest part is like just the tight areas like crawling upside down under the foot well and getting your hands down by the master cylinder. removing the air box helped not even sure if you can do it without removing the air box.... lifting the car made it easier to tighten and bleed the slave cylinder but i mean other than those things it was pretty strait forward and easy.. i like to consider myself a decent mechanic but in all reality i dont really know jack shit just made sure to watch videos and study before i did it :P

I have it on my 8th gen Si. It's a factory Honda EM1 Civic CMC, with a stainless line and connectors. It works great. Buy their shift cable bushings and their shifter base bushings for the full experience ;)

Their not really good. I mean their better then I am but I rather go with an em1 cm upgrade for the 8th gen civic si. Only because I bought a K-tuned cmc upgrade kit & it lasted me a lol over a year and it began to leak from the cm,not tye line but from the actual cmc, and the warranty is like 6 months to a year I believe. So i don't recommend it at all UNLESS you have a choice of getting the oem version or this ktuned,then yea get the ktuned one.
