Kovilakam Kalan
Ingredients
1) Medium sour curd - 1 litre (4 cups)
2) Medium ripe banana - 1 no (big)
3) Chilli powder - ½ tsp
4) Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
5) Salt - to taste
6) Jaggery - 1 tbs
Masala paste
7) Grated coconut - 1cup
8) Curd - 2 to 3 tbsp
9) Green chilli - 4 to 6
10) Cumin seeds - 2 pinch
11) Turmeric powder - one pinch
Seasoning
12) Coconut oil + ghee - 1 + 1 tbsp
13) Fenugreek - ¼ tsp
14) Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
15) Red chilli - 5 to 6
16) Curry leaves - plenty
Preparation
1) Boil the banana cubes with a very little amount of chilli powder & turmeric powder in ½ cup water add jaggery when just done, & boil well.
2) Stir with the masala paste & add beaten curd stir & just boil.
3) Remove from flame, stir some time, season with the ingredients & add salt.
