@@BeeboBee thank you for letting us know that! I guess that means I need to add some material to push my child beyond what they offer. My son has a Highschool reading and spelling level and is a third-grade student this year. I do not want him to get bored, as he is known to, if he is not challenged.

We are thinking of doing the K12 Inc. independent study program. Do you by chance know if the Independent study program follows the same online activities as the teacher-assisted public school program, just without a teacher's assistance? I have not heard anything good about K12 Inc.'s teacher-led public school program, but the curriculum itself looks good for parents to work on independently with their children. This unboxing is very helpful to see what we would be paying for. Thank you.

I’m starting this fall of 2020. Is there a teacher to help you with the online school like a teacher to ask for questions if your parents are busy??

Hi Amy, we have really enjoyed homeschooling. There are definite challenges in the beginning of learning new schedules, new routines, and not going overboard with all the flexibility. However, we have been happy so far. However, we have gone a different direction from k12 since this video. We are working on making an update for an, end of year review video, and plans for next year video. We are in Texas, so with k12, they had to follow all the public school laws for school. We found it created a lot of monotonous work for everyone, and have very little flexibility. Stay tuned and we are working on a blog post and video of what we are currently using.

hello, i was looking into enrolling my child in K12, but after reading your post about why you ditched this program, i am wondering if you could share what other program you found... my family has similar feelings about it not working for us and finding the right program is more difficult than we expected. thanks

Hi Mari, We are really wanting to do a video on this, but we just havn't gotten to it yet. We are swamped with moving and selling our house currently! Currently, we are using a mix of things, not one big program. Here is a short list. Will try get more detail in a blog/video soon! Math-you-see, All about spelling, go thru an atlas and focus on a state a week, and he is self driven on science so that is never a challenge to find something to do.

Does everything from K12 need to be returned?
@WhereWildOnesRoam4 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, they had us return everything EXCEPT things like workbooks that had been written in, opened packages of seeds, etc. All manipulative, textbooks and non-consumable items had to be returned.
