Gotta GMC K1500 here, I run Ford 56 and 3/8in long spring in front, easy 10in travel, and I use a Tom Woods 37in front driveshaft, but my front axle is moved forward 3in from stock, no issues so far. From El Mirage AZ.

Just FYI, go to the junkyard and get a front drive shaft from a Ford Excursion. Have the flange that bolts up to the transfer case machined then cut to length re-weld and bingo, new drive shaft for not much dollars. Mine works great.

Yea, I'm still in danger with my shaft. Running the longer Deaver spring & it flexes too much for front shaft. I haven't wheeled it hard so, I think it's a matter of time this happens on my K5.

Better measure it! After talking with Tom Woods, that shaft was good for 2” compression and 2.5” extension. Then accounting for axle wrap was just way too much.

I measured & compressed, extended. Placed bumps to properly bump at almost full compression of the front driveshaft, got a longer spline driveshaft with about 10" of spline. At full droop it has maybe 1" left of spline. I shoulda got the AG style but $1500 isn't so easy now days lol. I may just have to though.

Not being a smartass but didn’t you move your axle forward from the stock location too? Be sure and let Tom Woods know that measurement as well. I have an 85 3500. That actually has a different length output shaft on the NP205. Thanks for the great video bro! San Leon Tx!

Did you phase it when you put it back in? Watching the video where you bolted it back up and it doesn't seem like it's phased. I know your just testing but it's best practice to have them phased. I kinda struggled with mine.....I actually think mine is too long and during compression I think mine is fully collapsed but it wants more. I'm a 1ton also d60 also on 37s now with I think a 6" lift (bought mine this way) and they do flex geesh! Love watching the build

Your supposed to Line up cap to cap umm I wish I had a pic of mine but if you don't you'll be "or off time or phase" if you will. It is a front shaft I get that but they do still spin and in an off road situation you want them timed or in phase.
