This is a very handy tool. When I first set up my k40, mirror 1 was so out of alignment that the beam was leaving the box altogether and burning into my 3d printing table across the room.

I recently ordered one and honestly, I'm impressed on how easy is to get a "bullseye" at the 4 corners. Two thumbs up for the Reverse Alignment Tool! Satisfied Customer.

Got the tool in the mail about an hour ago and I'm up and working. Thank you so much. Best alignment video out there.

Very professional with NO safety measures taken at all. No goggles, no lid closed, no nothing but just staring closely at the beam...

Looks like a class 1 pointing diode. No extra safety precautions. Guessing glasses are polycarbonate so it should be od +7 for 10.6um guessing also these tubes are broadband output but that is 9um to 11um so still good with eyeware. I don't get too jumpy until +400 watts with sub 100us pulse widths. Even with covers on this is still class 4 laser system, so just be cautious and keep body parts out of beam path.

Interesting tool, since I just bought a used K40. Are you not supposed to wear safety glasses while operating the laser, or am I missing something?

new to this, and i do appreciate the video and explanation on it but, the zooming and moving side to side throws off the video for me.. my k40 should be here soon, hopefully i wont have much alignment to end up doing on mine, but if so then i'll give it a try, thanks yall

I am a little co fused, after you aligned everything with the red laser you stated do not touch the adjusters again, but yet you went back and turned both adjuster knobs on both mirror holder 1 and 2. Please explain

How do you fix the issue of the beam on mirror 2 from the head going up and down. that is the big issue I'm having now.

Did you find a solution? I need to know what to do.

Constructive criticism, next time please tilt the phone because I’m only using 1/3 of my monitor. Had to use full screen to be able to see most of it. That being said, nice video. Aligning these lasers can be a hassle, especially the head.

the alignment tool i received doesn't attach to the standard head, it fits in the tube i got from you
@gregoryskok23303 жыл бұрын
I’d love to try this tool but I’m not clear on how it actually attaches to the mirror 3 tube. Does something have to be removed to do this. I don’t feel a thread inside that third mirror tube. I have an OM Tech 40 watt machine that looks exactly like the one in the video.

Hey, I was trying to align the laser but when I tried to do it the laser tube doesn’t shoot the laser. What should I do?

"Pure alcohol"....Hardware store Denatured alcohol or drugstore alcohol?
@americanphotonics91204 жыл бұрын
I have not personally used denatured alcohol, but it contains no water and it will not damage the coating. As long as it evaporates quickly and without any residue it should be good.
@Tuffenough4u3 жыл бұрын
It's a bad idea to use denatured alcohol it seems, for the very reason you discussed Steve. Apparently it does in fact leave a residue and is not good for electronics or lenses!
@Tuffenough4u3 жыл бұрын
Drug store "food grade" standard isopropyl does not leave a residue. Denatured will apparently. Just looked it up > www.google.com/search?q=denatured+alcohol+vs+isopropyl+residue&oq=denatured+alcohol+vs+isopropyl+residue&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i333l3.15613j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Where can this laser alignment tool be purchased?

Where can I purchased the laser tool to help aligned my laser mirror?
I'm going to tell you something you may not already know: You can still adjust the beam even with that ghetto laser head barrel and without that laser pointer. If you loosen the thread between the upper and lower body you could wiggle it tiny bit left and right (perpendicular to the X rail)---so that gives you horizontal position adjustment. Then you could insert a tiny piece of paper or rolled up tape into the side of that barrel's mirror and adjust the metal leafs that locks it to different positions before tightening it up. Always check beam position bits by bits by placing a piece of tape on the cone opening and inspecting it with a small mirror. This will take a lot of efforts and can be pretty frustrating, but it is somewhat possible to do. But the machine cannot be used at higher speed because it will ultimately shift that paper insert.

This is a joke. Just put in the cart and it asks me for my e-mail address instead of paying for that. Does this site just collects emails?
