Ive had a broken lens twice now both from different companies and they were not over tight

Letting the lenses get dirty can cause quite a lot of heat to build up quickly in them, at some point it will either super heat and crack/shatter or just eventually crack over time with repeated heat cycles. Really should give the bottom lens a quick wipe before/after each use, it only takes 30s.

I've been wondering about that exhaust port/restriction. I was going to cut mine back(it has the longer one), but I'll just be removing it now. :)

That handy hole in the chassis you used for the air tube is the access to the right hand y axis belt tensioner screw. You can be forgiven for not knowing about this because it’s so poorly lined up with the adjustment. It doesn’t need tensioning very often but the tube will have to come out when you adjust the belt tension. Be careful putting you hands in the tight spots, lots of sharp edges, burrs and metal shards in the laser. Wait till you remove that bottom plate and you see how misaligned the mounting posts are.

Very interesting series, thank you. During your second cut, it looked like the fan blades were not turning, were you using a second/external extraction fan instead of the one on the unit ?

Considering how the chinese love to build things down to the absolute bare minimum(bordering on the dangerous quite often), Cant believe they even added that fan ducting at all, Seeing as its an extra BOM part, although the whole unit is probably a clone of a clone anyway.
