this song reminds me of the time with my grandpa when i was younger. we never had much in common but ill never forget watching him play the ukulele and listening to this song along with the others he played. i was 5 then and now 13 years later i go back to old songs like this to feel how it felt to live back then. this song is what we have in common. though we dont talk all the time i sure do miss sharing this music with him

I remember back in 2016 in Wahiawa. Ernie Cruz Jr amid hush voices began strumming the chord to this song. Everyone in the audience who came to celebrate my dads life were greeted with a treat. Ernie Cruz was a good friend of my little brother he had come at the request of my family. It was in the backyard of my little brothers mentors home, we called him Uncle Todd. My little brother lived in the studio behind the house. Ernie Cruz began strumming the chord to the song. You could hear voices murmuring “Omg he’s playing the song!” Cell phones that were being used to text friends or check their Facebook and instagram status were raised in his direction to video record the song. Uncle Todd sat to the right of him guitar in hand accompanied him, my little brother sat beside Ernie Cruz as he sang the first verse of the song. It was so magical it was like hearing the song for the very first time. Everyone in the audience was silent you couldn’t hear a pin drop. That was what I remember of that song so long ago. Now Ernie Cruz, Uncle Todd, my mother, my father as well as one of my brothers and all of my grandparents god rest their souls are up in the heavens playing till their hearts content.

The best version of this song was when Ernie Cruz Jr and uncle Todd Adamis sang it at my dads funeral in 2016 in Wahiawa. RIP the three of them.

I was trying hard to put babies to sleep at work today without putting myself to sleep. Wanted a song i could sing on loop so I sang this 😂 I loved when my mom them would play this for me, now I'm singing it to the babies at work. Though I mainly sing it when it rains.

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain Telling me just what a fool I've been I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain And let me be alone again The only girl I've ever loved has gone away Looking for a brand new start Little did she know that when she left that day Along with her she took my heart Rain please tell me that it's just not fair For her to steal my heart away when she don't care I can't love another when my heart's somewhere far away And let me be alone again And let me be alone again
