They don't make em like this anymore. Keali'i was a staple when I was growing up in the 90s

he was a musical genius. I knew his father who worked over at Maui community college. his father was an extremely kind man. Willy & his siblings sang at Queen Kaahumanu Center when they were young kids.

I remember Robert telling the story of the singing, all Cazimeros did music....Robert's mother was trying to tell him how beautiful his voice was he didn't believe her. At a recording session she had them play back his voice and he heard himself. Until then he just didn't know.

Hands down, best version of this song....reminds me of when I left the islands in December 1993....I was driving down the H1, had the windows down, preparing to return to the mainland.....this song came on the Hawaiian radio station, KCCN, I believe...I was sad to be leaving the islands but looking forward to returning back to FLA....as his voice was booming, it was a glorious moment I'll never forget....to this day, each time I hear this song, that euphoric feeling comes back to me....

I’ve heard the numerous versions of this Mele, all were good in their own right, but none has the aching, almost haunting beauty, that only Palani can deliver. You were a true Son of Hawai’i

I met your mom yesterday at her shop in Kahului airport. I bought a few trinkets and when I told her I danced hula she got excited and we chatted about music and movement and the beautiful Hawaiian language, perhaps the most beautiful in all the world. When she hugged me at the end I felt the Aloha spirit blessing our brief meeting, just as I felt from everyone I met in Kihei town. Maui Strong! Mahalo and congratulations on your Hall of Fame wall and 3x Grammies.
