I ordered that sheath through Amazon. They said it will be here today.............. I carried my KBAR in the US Army (Scout Platoon) and Its right here with me still today--------Thanks Herb :)

I bought a similar K-Bar a short while ago - mine had a slight serration near the pommel for sawing. A brilliant knife - I use mine in my landscaping job to cut through tough branches or roots. The heaviness of the blade gives it great power to chop with and the construction has left it very hardy. I'm impressed and amazed - the pedigree is no joke. Fantastic knife, a must have.

What a great, honest review Mark. I have the same version, 7", Kydex and Crayton G in black and it looks awesome, the blade is again powder-coated but in grey on mine. It cost me £105 including postage in the UK so the US prices are fantastic. Very highly recommended knife. Thanks again and you've just won another subscriber. Cheers.

My dad carried one as a combat Marine in the Pacific during WWll. I still have it, and have picked up a few more from WWll at gunshows over the years. Have a box of 'em! A nice review, well done, and the knife you reviewed is a fitting tribute to the original, but utliizing modern materials, as you pointed out. My dad had R&R in Australia once, maybe twice, between island hopping up to Japan. Been there a few times myself on business, and have fond memories, y'all certainly do know how to drink beer!

You'll find several in my Fixed Blade playlist, these are the kind of knives I gravitate towards. I really like the Ontario SP43, SP50, and also the RAT. The KA-BAR Becker range is worth a look too. All are terrific value and should do the job.

I definitely agree with your statement at the end about owning a decorative one and a useable blade. I'm leaving for bootcamp within the next few months for the mc so I'd love a newer version like this to use and a more classic looking blade for decoration.

Hi Mark, Excellent review to say the least, thanks. I haven't seen all your vids yet so I hope I'm not repeating anything? Anyway as a keen enthusiast and collector such as yourself I've recently purchased the latest Hedgehog Leatherworks dedicated sheath for the Ka Bar 7 inch combat knife. The only reason I'm mentioning this is that there's a left handed version available (worn horizontally on the back) ps I still prefer the 1217 to the current USMC issued Ontario's...Cheers from Melbourne

I bought mine a 1211 used from my brother who knew I wanted one. 30 bucks is what he and I paid. Sheath and 2 straps for chest and shoulder mount I believe. My father got me hooked on knives from my first imperial jack knife to my buck lockblade and 6 inch hunting knife. Bucks are a family favorite being affordable quality but I think I have a knew favorite knife.

Where can i track down the "desert" color knife with the Kraton G handle and Kydex sheath to match? Cheers
@AussieMark90912 жыл бұрын
The handle has a feel a bit like a hard rubber, with just just a little "give". It also has a fine texture, like it was sand blasted. So I guess it feel both rubbery and textured. Hope that helps.

I found a good use for the sheath clip (top of loop) by using it for my belt. I then tie the base end of the sheath to my belt, so that the carried position is horizontal. It is much easier to retrieve that way, at least for me.
