I love the BK2 I have made a few modifications of my own but even without modifications it's a perfect knife. I really like hearing the knives being called tools, too often people do not understand that.

Ka-bar Mark 1 Kraton handle, Becker BK7 , Becker BK16 are in my opinion the best KA-BARS! Honorable mentions, the classic Ka-Bar USMC with Kraton handle and the Becker BK 9. The BK16,BK7,BK9 are probably Ethans best designs, but we have to admit, that all the Becker line of knives, are some of the best and defenately, the best fro the money fixed blade knives out there!! Tip: Put some scratches with a low grit sandpaper (100-200 grit) on their zytel handles.Eventually, the will get way gripier and wil start to feel like micarta/G10. Just don't over-do it. Work slowly, check many times how it feels and don't try to sand the handle down, by using back an forth motion, just push some diagonal, random scratches, where your hand touches the handle while hollding the knife. Enjoy!!!

where is the bk 75 made out of cpm 3v with a 5 inch blade and 1/4 inch thick 90 degree spine for the ferro rod and a custom kydex sheath with that compass he has on his sheath for his knife and 3 inches from spine to edge kind of like a small wart hog

Ive got the bk2, BK9 and BK11. If you ever need a workhorse of a knife, get a becker!

Ka-Bar would get more respect from me if it used better steel. 420c is just trash for dollar store knives (no heat treat will make it good, perhaps usable, but never good). They are resting too long on laurels that have gone stale. m390 or it's chemical twin (cpm s-35vn I think) at a minimum from a name this prestigious. Further, it's folders are lackluster in design. All told it's like getting a limp handshake.

I don't know what Ka-Bars you have but every one of mine are 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel. My Mule folder is a beast using AUS8A steel. As far as I know they use nothing less than 440 stainless which is still a decent steel. But all of their large/bushcraft/utility blades are 1095.

As far as I'm aware they use 1095 cro-van. Which is very similar to o1 tool steel. That type of Steel came from the Sharon Steel company.

@@billpeart You are close. It's 50100b Sharon, it's properties are between 1095 and O1. It has great edge stability, it doesn't chip. 1095 CV is a marketing trick PS It's also very similar if not the same, with that old Carbon V, that Cold steel used back in the day, a steel that made Cold steel famous.
