While war heroes were mentioned including Maqbool Sherwani for his role in the 1947 war against the Pakistani tribesmen (Kabailiyies) backed by the Pakistani militia, which we now call the Pakistani Army. However I would like to mention the Kumaon 4 Battalion. Kumaon 4 prevented history from changing for us. Trust me when Kumaon 4 started, they had planned to advance all the way to Islamabad but Pt. It is wrong to say that Jatinder Singh emerged as a leader in the 2008 Amarnath agitation, but actually he was one of the voices who were vocal in support of the Amarnath agitation in 2008, and after the agitation was over, he took volunteer retirement from his job in 2008, as he was serving as a doctor till that time and after his VRS, he joined BJP. Actually it was Adv. Lela Kararn Sharma who emerged as a leader in the land row of Amarnath in 2008 as he was the face of "Sangharsh Samiti", a forum floated to spearhead that agitation which was fully backed by RSS.

Visited Kashmir first time in 1969 after my marriage with two other couple friends ! Was shocked 😮and surprised 😯 to find that every Kashmiri Muslim, be he a taxi driver, shikara walla, shop keeper asking us deliberately “aap Hindustan se Aaye Hain” and this was repeated every day of 15 days we spent in Kashmir ! This was injected in Kashmiri peoples mind by Sheikh Abdullah to blackmail Government of India and he succeeded due to Vote Bank Politics of Jawaharlal Nehru !
