Appreciations: Technical aspects very good. Especially cinematography. Good music, editing, vfx too. The detail about physicist just doing teaching and papers was good. Acting was okayish. Dialogues are okay, but needs to be more natural. Criticisms: First of all, title needs to be searchable in youtube. Thousands of unrelated results come when we put Kaalam short film. Kaalam is a very general title. The initial song I felt was unnecessary. After two lines it should have been running in background. Generic storyline, no interesting aspects. Nothing to differentiate from countless time travel movies. Intentionally or unintentionally twist spoiled in poster. No emotional connection. Too long spending time in explaining physics. When Theory of relativity was talked about, I was thinking some extremely dense object will have to be nearby the scientist, so it creates a pocket of space to affect gravity, and so future time travel will be possible. Some gravitational lensing leading to some interesting cinematography, etc. I mean, these were just my thoughts when Einstein was brought in. But, unfortunately some illogical energy manipulation thing was explained. Didnt even explain how energy will be manipulated. Completely unrelated bioweapon aspect. Have to work on writing. I suggest taking a look at 'STAR TALK' by Neil DeGrasse Tyson youtube channel atleast to get some idea about time and physics. Sorry for harsh criticisms. Just an honest review of the short film. Wishes for next project to be interesting and content oriented.
