Fluffy, wavy, shining perfection XD! This crochet scrunchies is so so easy for beginner crocheters to start as their first project.
materials
- yarn
- hook size USG6/4 mm
- elastic
- scissors
- yarn needle
instructions
(1) single crochet around the elastic until filling it in
(2) now slip slip stitch to beginning
(3) chain 3 stitches
(4) then double crochet inside the stitch 3x
(4b) repeat until filling it in all around
(5) slip stitch, 2nd round of double crochet 3x all around
(6) last step slip stitch, cut the yarn tail and pull
(7) sew in the yarn

Does anyone have any tips, on why it might not ruffle but remains straight? I have attempted this a number of times and tipple checked that I am following the tutorial properly :( Thankyou!

Could be two things. 1- make sure you are crocheting into the whole stitch, not just the top or bottom of it. 2- make sure you are putting multiple stitches into each crochet when required

Hi @Julia-ne7ze It could be the Double Crochet is not being done properly, I would recommend to watch more crochet videos to build insight on the technique. Yes it's fine! Depending on the yarn the texture will change but for this technique you can use any kind of yarn :D
