It is good to understand about Caste Conflicts and Class Conflict, Imperatively Coordinated Association, Interest Groups, Quasi Groups, Latent Interests, Manifest Interests, Social Change, Revolutions, Monopolistic Capitalism vs Collaborative Capitalism, Colonialism and Decolonisation . Talking about differences in concepts of Class in Marx and Ralph Dahrendorf, Capitalism (if goes in line with reforms demanded by Interest Groups, along with Democracy, Free Markets and Bureaucracy among many other factors) will have less chances of revolution as opposed to Marx. Each terms used here is a by product of your conceptual clarity on us. Keep up the great work and let us read paper 2 as well from you. It will be my humble request to you.

Can you please teach the conflict theory of Lewis coser, it's criticism and it's comparative analysis with dahrendrof ?
@kaarwan-e-upsc
@kaarwan-e-upsc 2 жыл бұрын
I taught Dahrendorf because his conflict theory directly correlates with critical evaluation of marx... Once I am through with paper-1, then I will take up additional topics like coser's conflict theory as it doesn't form a core part of upsc syllabus... I will pursue these value additions once I am through with syllabus requirements of sociology optional!!

Just make short 2 page notes of Coser's conflict theory.... I think it's given in IGNOU material (you could add additional points from Google search).... This will be more than enough.... If some issue crop up pertaining to understanding coser's theory... Comment here... I will clarify any doubts relating to coser's theory!!! Best wishes for mains dear!!

Sir on one side you are saying that the 2 collectivities are based on similar interest and on other side you are saying they have different interest's.

Sir at 00:51:25 you are saying 2 collectivities are based on similar interest but at 1:00:11 sir here you are saying that conflict will happen between the members of same ICA , so sir when there are 2 collectivities based on similar interest, then why their will be conflict between them. So it means these 2 collectivities are having dissimilar interest. Dahrendorf’s key concepts Conflict of interest The conflict is fundamentally based on two type of interest Those With Authority: Their INTEREST is to maintain status quo Those Without Authority: Their INTEREST is to change status quo

Sir, Dahrendorf criticizes Marx on the ground of welfare states....but spread of Marx's ideas was a major factor behind rise of Welfarism right?
@kaarwan-e-upsc
@kaarwan-e-upsc Жыл бұрын
Dahrendorf says capitalism has undergone a qualitative change in the 20th century... So conditions that were prevalent in the 19th century when marx was analysing capitalism are not present anymore.... Therefore a new explanation is needed..... Yes, Socialist movements were the stimulating factor for the rise of welfare state.... However, neo-marxists would say that the welfare state is a mere facade.
