It's an ecological hotspot and very well preserved having dense forests, lakes and numerous waterfalls. These places are not commercialised unlike Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and other tourist destinations.They were never publisiced by government as tourism was never a priority in Maharashtra.

Kolhapur is historical place here also PANHALA is hill station there are banglows of ajay devgan ,Lata Mangeshkar,Marathi a lot celebrity's here is also, like kaas plateau here is masai plateau where padmavat movies set was .also Marathi industry in Kolhapur... Kolhapuri chappals,mercedes city in आशिया कोल्हापूर if you visit PANHALA, kolhapur then you feel there is no other places in the world...if you see PANHALA fort then you feel you are in heaven...so come and enjoy
