Jonathan Pageau I am a (self-proclaimed) occultist and I love your channel and videos! I think occultists are hostile to Christianity because the way Western Christians view the world is perceived as depraved and lacking of the intuitive symbolic understanding. On the other hand, many occultists fail to see the significance of Christian symbolism and remain complacent in whatever customized-symbolic-architecture they devise. Carl Jung was the dude who propelled me into this subtle way of seeing that the orthodox tradition does - though the christian perspective is more limited (imo, no offense). The sooner society sees that magic is necessarily embodied and projected from every soul, manipulated in our every action, and contained in every thing, the better. And I think you’re helping with that :) if you call it ‘God’ I’m okay with that... for the most part.

The misunderstanding of symbolism has been a source of much frustration for myself as well. I highly resonate with this video lol. Another point of frustration is the fact that literally all symbolism has been stripped away from modern Protestant Christianity so I can't even point to examples within my own sect and, as you know, in Christian circles anyone who isn't within your own tiny little sect might as well be straight-up worshipping the devil. 🤦‍♂ So this may or may not be helpful in changing any of their minds, but it was nice to see another Christian telling people to stop being silly and ignorant and think critically about the judgements they make.

This info is useful to me. Recently I was counting the exercise reps of one of my clients. His first set he did 6 reps. His second set he did 6 reps again. As far as I know, the Waldenses, some of the first christians, didn't have any mystical private rituals or symbolism. They didn't even want Jesus on a cross hung in their home. Who told you that snakes are evil? Why is it that the goal of the snake in the Garden of Eden, is the same result that we see in the Book of Revelation? The Father in Heaven is not the God of the Old Testament. The God of the Old Testament is obsessed with sacrifice and bloodshed. Whereas the Father in Heaven sent his own Son to be a Sacrifice here on Earth. We have been lied to, and it becomes really obvious when you see all the murder and bloodshed in the old testament and compare it to what Jesus actually said. Intention. Motivation. Purpose. Faith. Hope. Love. Serpents are not evil. Our founding fathers even talked about this when we chose the Eagle over the Snake. "Don't tread on me." But now we have a Eagle clutching a Snake as our nation's mascot. The war between the Eagle and the Serpent is real. Just look throughout all of history and you will see the Eagles Wings as a Herald for Death and Destruction. Snakes are venerated as being wise and healers. Even in the Bible the Jews are healed by looking at a bronze serpent. The Biblical text is full of contradictions because it was monopolized and tainted by the Roman Catholics for 1500 years. The problem with interpreting any symbols is that they can mean different things to different people. And we rarely have access to the original intent of the person writing or placing the symbol. So perhaps it is more useful to use our inner guidance, inner tuition, to gain a truer sense of the original intention. To do this, we need to be aware of any particular meanings we have become accustomed to associating with a particular symbol, put ourself into a neutral space, then tune in to the energy of the originator. It works for me. In addition, I am very wary about swallowing someone else's interpretation either way ('this is an evil symbol' or 'this is not intended to be used for evil'). Because usually, their interpretation is based on a particular agenda of intent, and NOT on a direct energetic connection with the original intended use of the symbol in a specific instance. I think one problem is that many people confuse the symbolic with the allegorical, being only one facet of symbolism. In allegory one thing equals another. It is a direct symbolism. Aslan = Jesus. But in symbolism one can see for instance that a cross and a scarecrow are related without equating them. And even in C.S. Lewis' vision of Christ as a lion, Aslan is still a lion, with all the complex depth of what a lion means, which can't be boiled down simply to courage or power. I find allegory appeals to my more literal minded Protestant brothers because it feels safer. It also means when they see certain images they tend to immediately jump to the 'literal' this equals that (i.e. pentagrams are used by occultists therefore all pentagrams are bad). I'm not sure how the author would respond, but some interpretations would allude to a single snake on a staff as the staff Moses used to heal with. The double snake staff may refer to Hermes. Both are used in medical symbology. The serpent is a common motif in many disparate cultures.

Awesome video. I used to struggle with psychosis and paranoia when I saw occult and masonic symbols. This video explained many of the ways in which I overcame those issues. In reality secret societies have been set up that way on purpose. I also thought it would have been cool if you touched on sacred geometry when you talked about the architecture of churches and the as above so below concept. Curved lines and circles in geometry represent the feminine while straight edges represent the masculine. Numbers and equations in themselves cannot be evil, but like the pareto distribution, how they are used can put you in a very positive or very negative state depending on your hearts desires and your potentiality.

I have some hints to what it is reflecting or "telling" us about societies undercurrents (which I believe it is because it is a subconscious phenomenon - the majority of these artists know little but the popular astrological figures that have been glamorized lately- there was no intention), but I'm sure you know more than I do.

I had this awaking last year that started with a massive panic attack and ever since I see the arts as something similar to witchcraft. Not in a necessarily bad way, but for instance, pop music or modern illustrations can kinda speak some really catchy dark stuff into the world and as our “virginity” to these dark concepts continues to be shocked- they keep pushing the envelope because we have been grown desensitized as a society. “Logos” now being made to represent the image of a business/money/material ... and exploitation of Logos. @@larryrapshaw8405 right, and with 2 intertwined and facing it reminds me of the medical symbol, as well as a reminder of the Hebrew pun of the word Serpent, Shining one, and its connection to the concept of Cherub, and how the cover of the Ark of the covenant is flanked by Cherubim, between which resides the mercy seat... not only the presence of YHWH, but the place where the blood of the yom kipur sacrifice is applied in order to atone for all of Israel. So the connection is made between medicine, the cross, the mercy seat and the bronze serpent. The image is atonement and restoration 4 different ways all in one. Are all of these connections valid? I'm not sure, but at least half certainly are.

Occultic teachings and its many different branches is spiritual abuse and manipulation at its highest order. It is gaslighting people on a completely different level that most cannot even comprehend. I am catholic (currently also exploring other chistian religions) and I have always been interesting in the symbolisms in general... at this point I think symbols have true power, and I think symbols are a tool and a language, therefore they are not good nor bad on themselves, but they can be used by many different people with many different intentions, and they can be use for noble and sacred purpouses but also for eveil ones (even for foolish ones)... It's not much different, oversimplificating, as the alphabet: you can use the letters to write a prayer and to write a blasphemy... Saying "hey! that prayer has two letter A, just like this blashphemy!" it does not mean the prayer is actually evil and it does not mean the blasphemy is actually good, it just mean you are looking at two different individuals, using a powerful tool to exhalt different mindsets...

I grew up in the same culture, there is much I love about the heritage I received such as hymns and theology, but a lot of subjects were labeled as demonic and perhaps it is because my parents were first generation Christians who were reacting, like a pendulum, to the French Canadian Catholic overreaching religion of the day. I am not Christian, but it is always refreshing to hear Christians with perspectives of common sense. Symbolism is a visual language...what various individual symbols do or don't imply can vary wildly depending on context and how they are portrayed with other symbols. Take the swastika for example...it is a holy symbol in Hinduism, but was perverted by the Nazis. Or if we treat symbols like words, the word (and pardon my language, but to get the point across) "bitch" can be taken as it's literal meaning of "female dog" as it has been used by dog owners and breeders and vets, or it can be used as a derogatory term towards women, or it can be used as a slang term of endearment by friends, and you can understand whether it's use is "good" or "bad" or "neutral" based on the context in which it's used. The two aren't mutually exclusive 😉 and I see what you're trying to do with your question. I've been there and I know all the tricks, tactics and apologetics arguments. Nothing can make me turn back to the shackles of organized religion.

@@fl_krake2874 "evil" doesn't always equate to "the devil" in every context. There's a lot of nuance to what specific entity, if any, even is "the devil" (Lucifer? Pan? Our carnal nature? Our Jungian shadow? All of the above? Etc.), or what "Satan" actually represents based on its use in different contexts in the bible. The literal translation is, simply, "the enemy". And frankly the same can be said for "God". I mean, there's good cases out there that even the Christian God has roots in worship of the sun. One's belief or lack thereof in deities cannot be simplified to ones acknowledgement that good and evil exists within all of us and the world around us. There are too many world religions and spiritual philosophies to draw such broad conclusions about how believing "x" must mean you automatically believe "y".

If God created everything, did God not create the very evil he supposedly fights against? And if God is all-knowing and all-powerful, why hasn't evil been defeated yet? Why not wipe all the evil from the hearts of man? Free-will? Free-will and the predetermination about the fate of man and the destruction of said evil are incompatible ideas. And if God created evil, or created beings with the capacity for evil, is God all good? Just some questions for you to chew on 🙂

06:33 - As a Hebrew speaking jew the word "kabala"-קבלה means "to receive" derived out of the verb "kibel"-קבל meaning "had received". The idea of being receptive to the infinite good that God (also referred as "the light without end") provides (via the "spherot"-ספירות system) is an integral part in the kabalistic Jewish philosophy hence the name. The Hebrew word for tradition is "masoret" מסורת.

@lex ora I watched his video, however there are no pictures/symbol associated with Hebrew letters... the symbol he's referring to are the proto cnaanite written language... those are not in any way shape or form Hebrew symbols. also, בר does not mean "son" it means "to possess"/"to have an ability"... and he fails to mention that the word "bereshit" בראשית is derived out of the word "rosh" ראש which means "head" or "above" or "main" and is tied in with the word "rishon" ראשון which means "first"... his whole analysis is heavily based on an interpretation to proto cnaanite symbols and he's translating the word בר wrong... his interpretation may just be wishful thinking... this however does not mean Jesus is not the truth and so on... but I don't think his explanation serves as reliable avidence.

A similar example the Swatiska. This is a religious symbol is found in India and Japan that points in the opposite direction of the Nazi swastika. Base on what Jonathan is saying, these same people would probably consider India and Japan to be Nazi countries, because of the similarity between the symbols. I too have come across the chic tracts from Jack Chic’s organization. Not the best witness to a non-believing world. Thanks for the video, Jonathan.
