i think it became popular because it showed realistic emotions if one suffers such situation. It showed what a young couple normally does when rent an apartment which is not of good level. It showed how a young man who was not interested in his bride (due to forceful marriage) started taking interest due to his brides' proper communication linked with emotions and feelings of a girl.
