The sauce on the sandwich is a remoulade sauce, a staple of Cajun/French cooking. If they have them, you should definitely get the red beans and rice side dish. Not as good as homemade red beans and rice but some of the best you will ever find in a fast food type place. Now you have finally had what we call a biscuit(savory thicker bread product) vs what we call a scone(slightly sweet, airy bread product) vs a cookie(sweet, thin bread product).

I usually split the biscuit (horizontally) and put some honey on it, but it seems pretty accurate otherwise. Did they have the Cajun fries or red beans and rice? As an American who got one of their sandwiches early on, I held my breath to see your reaction. I'm SO glad you enjoyed this taste of Louisiana! And yes, it's 100% true that there were fights over them running out with many locations requiring cops to help with traffic/crowd control when it first rolled out. TBH, I can't imagine driving AND taking a train AND queuing up for 30 minutes for it since there's a Popeyes that's only a 10 minute walk away with, at most, a 10 minute wait inside. I was disappointed you didn't get any sides with it, though! Red beans & rice, cajun fries, or their mashed potatoes and gravy are worth a second visit. Also, be sure to ask for packets of Cajun Sparkle seasoning, especially since you like spicy.

Lol. I love watching people who enjoy their food! I was smiling and laughing from ear to ear the whole time. That was fun, I subscribed too. I'm glad that you enjoyed that! I'm still laughing!

2 breasts, spicy, cajun rice with some of the gravy on it (after the take over most of the stores stopped doing that for me so if the rice looks a bit too dry I'll get the mashed potatoes and gravy) and a Coke was a standard lunch for me when I lived in Louisiana. They have come down a notch since being taken from Al Copeland, but they are still the best chicken place to me. I do like the tenders as well, but I prefer the skin. Back in the day, every order came with at least one biscuit. Prefer mine hot, fresh, and with lots of butter.

Ever been to Copeland's i was disappointed. I thought it'd basically be a fancier Popeyes, and it was just ok food I could make at home.

the biscuits are so good because they're literally painted with liquid butter...so good

Popeyes is my favorite fast food chicken place. I always get the spicy option. I love the American version of the BBQ sauce (I'm assuming you're getting the same there). You missed one of the best things about Popeyes--THE SIDE DISHES. They have a version of Cole Slaw that I like (some complain that it's too sweet). My favorites are Red Beans & Rice (but some don't like it), and a discontinued item called Cajun Rice. It was very popular so I don't understand why they replaced. Of course they have Cajun Fries and Mashed Potatoes. I usually get the 3 piece meal that comes with a biscuit and a side item. Maybe when they become more established in the UK they will add the limited edition items like Cajun Shrimp, Crawfish, Etoufee.

Hey Kabir!!!! Greetings from San Francisco, California! I’ve been watching you for so long and had to finally comment. Popeyes is one of my favorites. You got a great mixture to give you a good first taste. Next time you get the biscuit, ask them for some packets of honey and jelly. I love them with a honey drizzle but some people like it with jelly. Try them both ways. Glad you finally got to try some of our fast food. Keep those videos coming!!

I wish you would have been able to eat a biscuit hot. With melted butter and honey... Omg so good. But glad you got to try it.

I love their mashed potatoes and gravy. I could drink that gravy! I can't believe you didn't get any! 😲 Next time, put some butter and maybe some honey on that biscuit. You won't regret it.

Me too. That gravy is the best. I dunk my chicken and biscuits in it. I always order an extra side of gravy!

I tend to eat the chicken tenders without the sauce unless they're dry, and I use the dipping sauce on the biscuit because it's usually dry by the time I get home to eat it, so the sauce helps. Glad you found out about the glory that is Popeye's chicken! ~Be Blessed

except when it comes to service in the US. Popeyes has a habit of hiring the worst staff possible

Don't have a Popeye's where I live. I know I was disappointed in the one chicken sandwich I had from KFC. It had a piece of gristle that ran down the middle. Had to take the sandwich apart and eat it with a fork. They can keep their chicken sandwich. Take Burger King any day over that.

The Popeyes in London is so bland in comparison to the Popeyes state side. I was so excited to try it here, but it was underwhelming, maybe because the U.K. is strict on additives and stuff 🤷🏾♀️

Man now you’re in the big leagues Kabir. Popeyes is pretty yummy. I love the spicy chicken with white and dark meat and the mac and cheese. Sooo good.

The Mac And Cheese sucks, but I don't do stovetop.
@arisucheddar30973 жыл бұрын
@@johnbernstein7887 thank you. I don't think it's that it's prefab to me. The issue is the oil. I didn't enjoy the taste, and kind of stirred the Mac around, and there was literally orangey yellowish oil in the bottom. That's... not supposed to be in there.
@johnbernstein78873 жыл бұрын
@@arisucheddar3097 Nope, Fat mixed with Flour to make a roux doesn't do that. That's why I bake Mac & Cheese. Problem with being a chef is you won't take shortcuts that don't make sense. Once you've baked a Mac and Cheese the right way you don't go back. It's too damn good!

Curious if after trying the biscuit, would you still compare it to a scone? A biscuit is a biscuit in the south😂

Their tenders and the sandwich are my favorites. They now have nuggets too.
@WhatDayIsItTrumpDay3 жыл бұрын
Those chicken tenders were actually small to moderately sized. In the US they typically run at least a third to a half again as big as those. The biscuit looked a little thin to me. They're a but more fluffy here. It's like they didn't use enough yeast with yours. Oh, the Deluxe version of the sandwich in the US usually has tomato on them as well. And that goes for for chicken sandwiches across most fast food chains. Burger King had a damn good chicken sandwich this year called the Ch'King, and it was even better than their previous sandwich. I think it had a special sauce on it or something, but it was pretty tasty. But on a side note, your use of the word "Burger" only applies to Hamburgers here in the States, kinda for obvious reasons. Everything else is just a sandwich. This weird naming convention kinda reminds me of my Filipino ex-girlfriend who thought us Americans only ate Burgers and Pizza. So if she thought that every sandwich was a burger, then I guess that explains that. 😄

You don't use yeast in biscuits, you use baking powder. Just a little bit of a hint.
