Hi I am the co-writer of Gumn. Thank you for appreciating the work we’ve done. It might not have the biggest of audiences but the fact that it is being critically acclaimed means a lot to us. There are 13 episodes in total. Tooba Siddiqui is someone who should be credited for the good things about GUMN. It was her vision and commitment that brought the project to life. There is no GUMN without Tooba. And yes she is the most underrated actor of our country, hands down. Feroz Qadri has performed exceptionally well considering this was his first acting role. He is definitely here to stay. Thank you again for putting in the time to watch it and review it without any biases 🙏🏻

Barbeena got a husband and a husband in waiting, in bonus.😃 Haji Sahab, indeed made Babeena’s future secure after him, by handling over the responsibility of house and business to Baraan. This is how I see the end of KP. ☺️ Kabuli Palao remained a roller coaster of emotions that glued us to television screens. The surprise was the discovery of the hidden acting talents in Eithesham Uddin, Sabeena and Abdullah Farhatullah as Baraan. The guy came much later in the drama and stole the show. He was hugely impressive in his accent, nuances, body language, style of speaking. And Sabeena from Tere Bin to KP, what an incredible rise. Congratulations to the team, writer, director, actors.👏

kabuli pulao 🥘: one of its kind master piece, a huge shout-out to Abdullah farhatullah i never had registered him as an actor based on his performance but oh my goodness, he nailed his character every little gesture, movement the humbleness, the guilt, without saying a word his loyalty and genuinety could be felt just by looking at him and his dealings at home and at shop. and what to say about Haji mushtaq and barbeena, i guess the huge success of an actor is when their audience cannot imagine any other actor playing the role they carry in a project, it goes without saying no one couldve done better than them, no dialogues no preachy territory yet sooo impactful to watch.

Kabuli Pulao - What to say about this master piece. Shameem, Baraan who were madly in love with Haji sb and Barbeena facilitated them to be together. That is true love. We were confused who Barbeena should choose and Writer gave us both perspectives by two conversations. The woman in Islamabad told why Barbeena should go with Baraan (young, from same culture) and then Baraan in conversation with Haji sb why Barbeena should stay with him (to save the grace of her community). The best scenes from the episode were when Shameem asks Haji sb to leave to keep Barbeena alive and when Haji sb and Baraan were having conversation. Thank you KP team for giving us this beyond delicious pulao.

What was the ending of Jhok Sarkar? The shooting ability of policemen was pathetic. They all died while the dakus escaped in jeep. Where did all the villagers go? Didn’t Noorie tell them that Sassi had gone alone towards the desert to save Arsalan? They could have shown the villagers coming to save Sassi and Arsalan, atleast.

Just skipped the last 10 minutes in my head and thought of a happy ending. 😁 But otherwise definitely enjoyed the whole drama and especially all the performances! In JAM, the husband is cutting her off from any voice of sanity or reasoning is a classic behavior of an abuser. Usually abuser would alienate you from anywhere you could went, leave you all alone to themselves. Everything shown in this drama is on point with the naracisst behavior of an abuser. As a drama it might seem streching but things are 1000 times more intense than this in an abusive relationship. Some wake up calls come with children, some with physical abuse. Most often women in these relationships don’t leave because of finances.

JAM: Ofcourse! this entire love bombing + abuse cycles can really really take such an emotional toll on a person. You are emotionally connected to the abuser. This entire thing definitely effects other relationships. Plus the abuser can sometimes be really good then bad then good then bad... others can see the bad, but the victim sees even the good. This is classic trauma bonding. How tables turn : 1) When it gets physical. 2) When it starts affecting your mental health and you realize that you're not happy. I personally don't agree that having kids with such narsissits is a good thing. First they coerce you, then they are also coercive with the kids, which is a different level of pain.

No, no, no, please Aamna, no. It is not good or sensible to have children in an abusive relationship. There is no certainty of it being a wake up call for either the perpetrator or the victim. Instead the parties are bringing an innocent child into the fray. Should the abused party one day decide to leave, she/he will be tied for a lifetime to their abuser. I'm reallg dismayed at your viewpoint here 😢 One should advise against thinking children solve marriage problems.

Jhok Sarkar: for a drama that was so intriguing with the dilemma of justice and what it means to serve, I was so disappointed with the ending. First of all, how does the entire police force die with the criminals leaving? Did y'all not train? The villager scene was nice but I'm surprised they didn't show up as backup support for Arsalan and Sassi. I guess they don't have weapons but still, I found it odd. I wish they tackled the rebellion angle a bit differently. The romance between Arsalan and Sassi was underdeveloped and the last scene felt meh. What a beautiful watch Kabuli pulao was! Extremely touching. On the contrast what in the world was Jhok Sarkar’s ending? This is sad because the drama started off as such a great watch and I remember when I saw the ost and all the scenes there I was like here is farhan saeed bagging another best actor for sure and saife hassan bagging another best drama/director. Now Farhan was good but thats what you always expect of him right! I mentioned this before as well you could’ve done so much more with an actor of his calibre. I mean even Badshah Begum was not a hit but his character was outstandingly done by him. Here toh all bechara had was a few heavy dialogues about police morale. Still one cant take this away that he is a hero you want to watch no matter what. And its great that while he does mere humsafars he picks different scripts like this too. I really wish he did a unique Geo drama like your Alifs or JSAs. Because this is the second time Hum couldnt keep up with a unique script of his drama. When it comes to hiba no offense to her but I clearly remember JS initially had other bigger names if I may say so for heroines but I remember the names were dropping day by day and now I can understand why. Really disappointed. Also I think JS was shot in a rush? Because I remember it was announced and then after a short while the trailer promo released. The ending most definitely felt a one shot thing in a rush I mean these folks werent even fake bleeding while they got shot. Hilarious really.

I would also add Shamim as the fourth hero of #KabliPulao. She was the one revealed the secret, told her student to release Baraan & told Haji Mushtaq to go to Afghan. Hence, she played a big role in Haji Mushtaq & Barbeena’s story. She sacrificed her life for her beloved, uff what a character & how brilliantly it was performed by Nadia jee 👏👏

Enjoying every moment of Gumn. Rayan speaks with eyes - that is amazing. JAM - I truly understand what Alizey is going through. That's how these guys portray themselves as loving and caring husbands. But they are the opposite of that. They criticize your family over and over, brain wash you, so that one day you think that he is the only one who loves me. They control you, but you don't know that. Kabli Pulav was so beautiful as Hasan said. I have no other words to describe it Great job the whole team!!

Jhok Sarkar: The makers might had a thought to covney the message that sometimes, when evil prevails so badly in the society that cutting its roots may end up at the cost of good, which has no doubts and we have alot of such examples in real life and also the sacrifices of devoted officers like ASP Arsalan but the execution of this whole concept was not good at all which spoiled the last episode and the whole drama I hope that if the directors ever want to modify the script they should ask the writer first as they have a clear vision of the script throughout

JAM: one the absolute worst things you could do in an abusive relationship, is to bring children into it, knowing it's abusive. If it's tricky for a girl to walk away from an abusive shadi without kids, it becomes much much harder after kids, as the abusive partner uses the kids as pawns in the game. And if somehow the girl manages to leave that relationship, the kids suffer if they stay with the father n are also deeply impacted if they manage to be allowed to live with the mother. And chances of a divorcee woman with kids getting married is also low and complicated in terms of child care and custody. I remember Mahira Khans moms character from Hum Kahan Ke Sachay they, most viewers blamed the mom for the condition her daughter was in after she remarried, although her first husband was an alcoholic and what not. In our society, it's really hard being a woman, and if you get really unlucky and marry an abusive man, somehow, much of it, would also be regarded as your fault.

Kabli Pulao: Glad that it was clarified that Barbeena wanted to stay because she has now moved on from Baraan and is completely in love with Haji Saab and not only because of guilt. We feel awful for both Baraan and Shameem but they were at peace with their fates. Baraan found fulfillment in playing Haji Saab and Qayyum's roles to take care of the family and the shop after Haji Saab leaves which was not ideal but a good closure. And for once Haji Saab didn't feel bad about leaving the family because he realized for real that it's just Barbeena and him for each other as end game. From a practical point of view it still pricks that Barbeena will possibly also spend a long time of her life alone after Haji Saab considering his age and health, but the end still gave a very satisfying feel and left us with a smile.

On Working women ! I firmly believe in the mantra, 'Educate yourself to advocate for yourself.' Understanding the challenges women face in our society is crucial. When we comprehensively educate ourselves about these challenges and communicate them effectively, we pave the way for solution-focused discussions. This approach not only raises awareness but also empowers us to initiate meaningful changes. By equipping ourselves with knowledge, we can better advocate for our rights and contribute to creating a more equitable society.

Watching JAM , it appeared that Alizeh’s mental state was not only due to Sherry’s manipulation, her family played a role in it too. Mom’s constant brainwashing confused her. Also her own foolishness at times gave Sherry the reason to do what he did. This time the mistake of the father can be seen as an attempt to provoke Sherry. This is actually mellowing down the impact of actual emotional abuse and manipulation of Sherry on the audience by providing reasons and excuses for his acts. It was wrong of the father to not include Sherry’s name in RSVP. Whatever, he is his son in law. In both these 2 episodes, Alizeh looked under tremendous stress because of the animosity between her family and her husband. She had to defend her husband in front of her parents, and her family in front of her husband.

This situation just gets worse and worse T.T I don't understand how you're supposed to even deal with someone like Sherry while trying to get your daughter to open her eyes to what's happening. Her mom effectively brainwashed her to see Sherry and "how good he is" to the extent that Alizey's girlboss braincells from episode 1 aren't even working. I'm gonna give a pass to her father and sister because honestly, I can't imagine inviting Sherry. He would be an absolute vibe kill at an event that isn't about him to begin with. But you're right that the animosity at this point is going to lead to even more trouble for Alizey but maybe it's time she chose?

@@ro2974 RSVP is a harmless, useless thing, just a formality. 😃But it’s a norm to write names of men in the family, and damand is a must. Whatever the father may think of Sherry, he cannot overlook the fact that he is still his son in law, and his daughter is not willing to leave him. He needs to be tactful , otherwise he will only make things worse for his daughter.

Unpopular opinion: I feel Kabuli pulao was a flawed plot. Went round and round in circles. They could have culminated the first time when Barbeena sold kabuli pulao, just could have added Baraan some how. Killing Qayyuum was totally unnecessary. Haji Sahab giving out everything to Baraan, the very shop that supports the household. Trusting him with the family’s responsibility and his business especially when he is his wife’s ex husband. I mean who does that!?? Not a well written plot. Haji Sahab was shown quite silly in many places. The whole drama could have been wrapped up in 3 hours and could have been put together a bit more thoughtfully and logically.

Hello Amna and Hasan, For Kabli Pulao... you forgot to discuss the scene between Nadia Afghan and Haji sahab..... it was so poignant...when she says " Mushtaq tujhey merna parey gaa""". She is the female version of Baran in the story. How Baran gives away Barbeena, She gives away Haji Mushtaq. She is the one advocating for Barbeena, while she had the perfect opportunity to turn it around for herself. But her Love for Haji was the real deal. She sacrificed her love for the khushi of Haji. Another strong, empowered female character of the story. BTW Amna ,Mubarak ho is episode mein Zakir bhai waapis aa gaey.

Loved the interview of Zafar Mairaj. ❤ But Shari'ah ruling must have been addressed. And answer to the question was not satisfactory at all. It's not about making a claim. If ex-husband comes back, a conflict arises automatically and it had to be explained for public's awareness. It was a pivotal plot point. You can't separate religion from emotions by saying that it was purely an emotional journey. Even if story needed to be concluded like it did, there must've been a proper course of action (from religious aspect).
