Congratulations to FEFEMZ on the incredible victory. This was his final year to compete. He has participated in 5 KAC DDR Finals. This is his 4th win. Great effort goes out to Chris for nearly staging an epic comeback on Endymion. Honorable mentions to all the other participants.
I hope you enjoy this vid. I'm making a lot more kind of interesting videos going forward so be sure to sub and leave a like.
Basic Rules/Format
-6 finalists fight for the top spot (see first bracket in video)
-Matches were 1 vs 1 by random seeding expect for Chris
-Each player chooses 1 song
-Cumulative EX score on both songs determine winner.

Dr. D is based in Taiwan and is a huge enthusiast of Konami's most revolutionary rhythm game in the Bemani series: DanceDanceRevolution. He creates valuable content surrounding the game and also obtaining MFCS and PFCs (Marvelous/Perfect Full Combos), feats not many DDR players can accomplish. Dr. D has over 600 MFCs in the game's current iteration, DDR Ace. His mission is to build a community of DDR players, regardless of skill level. You can catch him live on his Twitch or KZbin channel, where he documents all of his stream highlights and MFCs.
Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), also known as Dancing Stage, is a music video game series produced by Konami. Introduced in Japan in 1998 as part of the Bemani series, and released in North America and Europe in 1999, Dance Dance Revolution is the pioneering series of the rhythm and dance genre in video games. Players stand on a "dance platform" or stage and hit colored arrows laid out in a cross with their feet to musical and visual cues. Players are judged by how well they time their dance to the patterns presented to them and are allowed to choose more music to play to if they receive a passing score. The latest release is Dance Dance Revolution A (Ace), which premiered in 2016.

I don’t think it’s been acknowledged much compared to the gold cab, FEFEMZ’s two impressive PFC’s and his eventual victory, but one of the best and most understated things about this KAC... Dead End (Groove Radar Special) was NOT selected once during the finals. And thank God for that, because many of us are sick of that piece of shit.

I don't think so. FEFEMZ PFC'd possession and delta max on player 2, FUNGAH played on player 2. Chris played on player 1 against BROSONI. I see. Good unexpected (?) idea by FEFEMZ. It seems he did his best to memorize the arguably hardest streams in the game (I'm guessing he played those in stepmania to death) in order to have a high speed multiplier through Valkyrie Dimension, then practiced the entirety of it. The results speak for themselves. A more general factor is his experience covering doubles, PIU singles and PIU doubles triple, if not more, the patterns he has seen and played. PIU also has both harder and more hard charts that ddr, all clearable thanks to PIU's more forgiving life system and timing windows. On the other, Chris' more general practice on everything is less useful due to the small song selection. In KAC it seems better to master two or three songs, the trickier and unexpected the better, at the cost of a bit less practice on the others. The fact that he mostly plays ITG / DDR official singles charts and doesn't seem branch out into other pad rhythm games or modes, not even stepmania edits, limit his overall experience with pad rhythm gaming. Mind you, he still is second best in the KAC by a good margin. To bad for FUNGA, he did win the SUPER Extra Exclusive against some of the best most experienced players in the world after all and is top of the DDR scene with Chris and FEFEMZ. PD: godspeed with this video doc.

All of these guys are playing on unmodified pads, with a new DDR machine prototype that includes a completely new display screen positioning and size. They're all playing significantly below what they're capable of. The American players have a much more finely tuned style of play (from years of ITG grinding in between DDR) and were more affected by the changes than Fefemz and Yudai, who kept much closer to their own PBs throughout these matches. This is particularly evident when you see how Chris and Jeff played at Super Extra Exclusive.

This year all came down to scheduling. I planned to visit the USA in December. Usually the qualification period is before that. Unfortunately this year it happened during the time I was in the USA. Since I compete in the Asia division, I am not able to submit scores while in another region that doesn't match my own. That's the long and short of it. As for not going to attend this year, it's also becsuse my trip in December. I used all of my vacation days in December and wasn't able to get more time off to go to Japan. Hope that answers your question. I must have missed your previous question.

Bars are there for a reason. It's part of the game. These high-level charts are designed with the use of the bar in mind. They would be impossible to pass without bar.

@@3gyxijv3jqaheb technically, you can do an "octo" if you pivot your hands and feet correctly. but that's not the point, what i'm saying is, that in the groove players can hit entire streams at a denser, faster pace than regular ddr songs.
