idk if the songs are chosen by the players, but if they're not then Chris would have a real argument for unfair conduct. I see. Good unexpected (?) idea by FEFEMZ. It seems he did his best to memorize the arguably hardest streams in the game (I'm guessing he played those in stepmania to death) in order to have a high speed multiplier through Valkyrie Dimension, then practiced the entirety of it. The results speak for themselves. A more general factor is his experience covering doubles, PIU singles and PIU doubles triple, if not more, the patterns he has seen and played. PIU also has both harder and more hard charts that ddr, all clearable thanks to PIU's more forgiving life system and timing windows. On the other, Chris' more general practice on everything is less useful due to the small song selection. In KAC it seems better to master two or three songs, the trickier and unexpected the better, at the cost of a bit less practice on the others. The fact that he mostly plays ITG / DDR official singles charts and doesn't seem branch out into other pad rhythm games or modes, not even stepmania edits, limit his overall experience with pad rhythm gaming. Mind you, he still is second best in the KAC by a good margin. To bad for FUNGA, he did win the SUPER Extra Exclusive against some of the best most experienced players in the world after all and is top of the DDR scene with Chris and FEFEMZ. PD: godspeed with this video doc.

All of these guys are playing on unmodified pads, with a new DDR machine prototype that includes a completely new display screen positioning and size. They're all playing significantly below what they're capable of. The American players have a much more finely tuned style of play (from years of ITG grinding in between DDR) and were more affected by the changes than Fefemz and Yudai, who kept much closer to their own PBs throughout these matches. This is particularly evident when you see how Chris and Jeff played at Super Extra Exclusive.
