Glad Paul remembers the good times with George. Things were tense between them after the Beatles got big. They almost never spoke in the 1970's. They had an on-again, off-again friendship in the 80's. But working together on the Anthology projects in the 90's brought a closeness. There was even reports that George asked Paul to help him with a few tracks on the album that would later be "Brainwashed". Sadly, George died before he and Paul could work on those tracks.

Paul’s not ever going to formally retire, it’s not in his blood. Remember he was the one who kept the Beatles together for an extra few years after they stopped touring and Epstein died. Everyone else kinda fell off after that. Not to mention the songs released after John’s death, particularly Now and Then, are testaments to Paul’s perseverance and persistence. When I think of how all of the Beatles music still is so relevant and beautiful and how literally millions, maybe billions, still love their music. How sad we are at John and George's passing, it made me ponder about the emptiness we'll all face when, Ringo, and Paul pass. I don't believe there are men on this earth that will be missed or loved as much as those who made up the Beatles. Their music was full of love, passion, the joys of life. Now, the music coming from man if not most bands is full of hate, ugliness, drugs, references to Drugs, death, cheating on our, spouse, promiscuous sex, rampant negative emotions, etc. perhaps this is why today's music will never be long lasting like the Beatles. We have so much hatred and depravity in today's world, what is there to sing about? It can really be,depressing at times. Thank you BEATLES and all the musicians who sing about and promote love in the world, who do not fear making reference to God, Christ, and their love that has influenced the love and goodness in this world and not the negative, we see enough negativity.

I was 16 at the time & I thought it was beautiful of Paul to show up at Brian's funeral (or memorial) wearing a long rainbow-colored scarf wrapped around his otherwise dark, somber-looking suit. I took it at the time as a statement of "LIFE GOING ON" or "the soul emerging from death as a jewel-tone butterfly, released from earthly bondage."
