I had it in West Bengal at a Muslim Person's wedding once. I never had more tender meat in Biryani since. And it wasn't even mutton... it was one whole huge-sized Chicken Drumstick for everyone. The meal was ended with a special sweet dish called "Zarda".

Biriani broght in Bengal by the Moghals. When moghal came, their cheaf was trying to cooked biriani with local rice due to unavailibility of bashmati rice and also meat of local bengal goat. But it was dificult to cook with soft local bengal rice. So they trying to make biriani with half cooked local chinigura/kalijira rice and non-cooked bengal goat meat with dam. Then they success and named it kachchi biriani.

Mostly mostly and mostly every type of biriyani and similar dishes like kacchi, pakki or tehari when it is a wedding house, we will cook it with chinigura rice. Chinigura rice is not always oily, it depends on cooking technique. We will never ever use basmati rice if it is not mainly for aesthetics.

It’s BJP government that accepted and gave sea area and land areas under dispute to Bangladesh which no other Indian govt did before. Also BJP govt helping Bangladesh by procuring cheap Russian oil. And also helping with infrastructure. Because of good relations Bangladesh has agreed to open highways passing through Bangladesh to go from West Bengal to northeast. Ganga cruise from Varanasi to Assam also going via Bangladesh. Cargo going via Bangladesh through rivers. Companies like L&T working on Dhaka metro. So get your facts right. BJP is the best thing to happen to India as well as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. BJP govt bcoz of its well managed finances also lent more than 3.5-4 billion dollars to Sri Lanka and also lent to Maldives another Muslim country.

The aloo story is different. When the nawab came to bengal he was older and potatoes had just been introduced in India and was exotic at that time, so the nawab said to include this in the biryani and hence it was introduced also since he was older the biryani had to be lighter than the awadhi version that is why the Kolkata biryani is lighter than Lucknow biryani
