I don’t think so. I lived in the west for 2 decades and I knew that white man keeps his word by and large. I understand that there was imperialism, colonization and plundering of assets by British as they invaded and ruled India. But - to do away with taxes for one year after having been beaten fair and square ( English umpires supervision)- white man would have gladly kept his word and that is to keep his own self esteem high. Iconic movie. Every time I see I tear up as Kachra gets the success that he truly deserves after having been subjected to humiliation of untouchability by his own.

Th scene would have been more dramatic if - 1st wicket was the stumped (the set batsman would undermine the bowler and would like to hit unlike the 3rd one who would probably play more cautiously given 2 wickets have fallen before him. The third wicket is bowled.
