I’m interested in seeing when things like Shaper Storms show up and more world events start happening. I think that’ll change how we see repetition in the game. The two most useful tips I have right now: 1. USE THE CORTEX!!! Just USE it. DO IT! JUST. DO IT. 2. Freeplay is absolutely awesome. Literally run around, shoot stuff, gather stuff, do dungeons (like Lost Sectors in Destiny 2) and you can level insanely quickly. You’ll need and use everything you get out in Freeplay.

You will of course always be queued with different and other people who play differently. This makes the repetitive in the game not bad and keeps it enjoyable.

I have to agree. They should not explain everything. Bioware didnt do it for Dragon age or Mass Effect and it really feels great if you figured it out on your own and you get the catch of it. I shouldn't be a game where everything is explained on how to do it. This makes it boring.

Everyone assumed cause of the third person and setting it was a looter shooter. They where partially right. Its much more the grandfather of Looter Shooters, the Dungeon Crawler. Which guess what game is the most popular Dungeon Crawler and one of gamings biggest IPs? Thats right Diablo. At this point of knowing Anthems systems Im confident in saying the comparisons to Destiny and other Looters should be dropped and Anthem should be compared to Diablo and other Dungeon Crawlers instead.

There are some parts of Anthem I think they could have done better at explaining. Case and point, the perk definitions. What's the difference between physical and gear damage? What's the difference between "Increase thruster life" and "Overheat Delay" What does the Luck stat do? Give more drops? Giver more chance for better drops? Chance to not consume a charge? Yes, we can and will eventually figure this out ourselves. But it would have took them maybe an hour to simply include a page with a sentence for each explaining what each stat meant.

I know I'll get hate for pointing this out, but Khackis is an EA Gamechanger or whatever the title is, so if everyone else is giving it terrible reviews, and he's not...maybe we should take what he says with a grain of salt... If you like the game sure buy it. But you're contributing to companies thinking it's okay to release unfinished/broken products, charge us full price for said product, then charge us for extra stuff in the unfinished game for which we've already paid full price.

The bugs are annoying, but you can atleast rejoin the missions if you crash so you dont loose out. Definitely the most fun game ive played in a long time.

I don’t get the concern about repetitiveness - what’s more repetitive than WOW, Diablo 3, or Destiny. I’ve been playing all 3 since inception and still play all three daily. Are the combat mechanics fun and are loot drops satisfying - that’s all, in the long run. Can’t wait to play Anthem on my PS4 in a few days. I do appreciate your videos Kackis. Loot drops may be satisfying at end game but they certainly are not leveling. I have gotten nothing that makes me think wow thats cool. I did in Destiny, Diablo, and WOW. As far as repetitiveness, it has less options of things than Destiny 1 when it comes to quest variation and everyone made fun of that games repeated defend this while my ghost does something missions. I bought the game and like it, but I will let it sit for a couple of months. I think that will give time to clear bugs and some of the frustrating design decisions. I mean 150k faction to craft purples when getting 3k is hard and you will out level the system before you get close to making a worthless purple.

I did get 10 hour Anthem for having Origin Access. This is what I can say: Gameplay feels fine, a little repeating. Fast leveling. Same mobs in every level. Not much social interaction with other players in mission or Freeplay. NO PVP... Idk... I won't buy it. Idk... This game has no much potential. Graphics and map is amazing. Gear and Javelins feels good, movement is smooth and fluid. But something keeps me away from spending 60€ for this game. Maybe it's price, maybe it's the fact all you will do is kill same Scars over and over again...

You are spot on regarding the "Tombs" missions. I was mad at first, but it forced me to go into freeplay. I was pleasantly surprised and stayed in freeplay even after completing the tombs. I found more fun once I got there.

I always hope in life that things i purchase, and invest time in are polished, but lets be real. Not every game is going to be polished right out the gate. ROFL. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm a Day One Destiny player. Destiny 1 was an ARCADE shooter when it launched. You had a disjointed campaign that **generously** lasted about 10 hours....and RPG systems that were almost laughably broken. The only end game was one raid...and replaying strikes and story missions. The loot system was so broken that people felt the best way to play the game for loot was to stand in the open world and shoot into monster closets (The Loot Cave). Anthem is a VASTLY better game that Destiny 1....a much better game than vanilla Destiny 2...and arguably better as an RPG than Destiny 2 is currently.

With that said, the game feels more like diablo in the direction they are taking it with the loot/crafting system and bonuses. You're not limited to 1 legendary weapon/armor piece. You're more inclined to receive a piece pertaining to your javelin. D2 is the last thing that comes across my mind when I'm flying around in my #thiccboi

PS4 player here so not experienced the game in full yet. BUT I will say I played both demo weekends, had 5-6 hours on the Div 2 demo and dabbled in Apex Legends and despite the issues, the bugs, the crashes on Strongholds, the sound issues, the hard resets etc the only one of the 3 that I actually wanted to go back and play was Anthem, which I think says a lot about the core game - its just so much fun! Roll on the 22nd coz I can't wait to play!!

For audio crashed you need to edit your sound settings on your pc. Go to control panel - Hardware and Sound - Sound - Playback Device ex. Heaphones - Enhancements - Turn off all enhancements - Advanced - Default format set to 2 channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD quality) Frostwire engine struggles with audio. Sadly EA forced bioware into this engine and its not the best for this game type. Its amazing they got anything done. Glad youre enjoying the game man! This is my new grind. I hope new content can get poured into this game quickly and smoothly. Im hoping for a warframe type experience mixed with a Destiny experience thus creating a game of its own. Cheers!

One of the biggest problems I experienced was a few missions not progressing. While I was stuck on a mission I read it was a common problem and a solution was for everyone to die and it would progress. There was water nearby to drown in. By the time I had a chance to tell anyone I was matched with they had quit the mission. It was my second attempt so I didn’t want to quit. As soon as they all quit it progressed. I also had a few crashes. Otherwise it was pretty smooth.

Theoctopus Thoughts I’ve seen many reviews of the game (both negative and positive) but honestly whether its a good game, or a bad one, I’m planning on playing the game regardless, because it appeases me. No, i was not looking for THE ONE video that “confirms my bias” or explains how great the game is or convincing me to get the game, because I’m simply hyped for the game and can’t wait to get my hands on it. Khakis does an excepcional job and explaining the game and key points of the game and what bioware needs to improve, and I couldnt agree more. He is honest and isn’t stating only good things. So using your time to call me out for something that might have been out of context is time wasted and better spent doing something else. Hope I could clarify.

Paid review - He was far too forgiving of the negatives while stretching the positives paper thin. The part where he showed an npc talking and put up the "this is not a cutscene, actual gameplay" was pure cringe, not to mention nothing about the dialougue was impressive besides great graphics.

They've honesty very much improved the game load/processing since the demo. The demo build was a very old build, the game runs much much better now.

Then Pass. The game has to handle a MASSIVE amount of data, and its because of the limitations of your console or PC. The screens may get shorter, but they aren't going away. The price of being able to seamlessly fly from hundreds of feet in the air....all the way down to malee distance of targets on the ground. If this is a dealbreaker for you, keep moving. I consider it a small price to pay for the experience of flying and fighting while flying the game gives you.

I bought it and will play it again, but decided to stop playing and come back in a few months. I will instead play Division 2. It also has issues, but feels much more varied and alive to me. I love the world of anthem more so I will keep hoping things are great as fast as possible, but d2 is a fun game as well, just different.

My advice... Wait until everything is fixed and there's more content. I personally already put the game down for probably a long time, b/c there's just too many worthwhile single player games that are coming out this year or beginning of next. TBH Anthem needs more diversity in Javelin builds, weapons, and gear in general. I'd go as far to say even after the game improves it's most likely not going to be worth it, but if you're into a good ole' rinse and repeat looter shooter.... Wait a bit for this one.

Nice to see an opinion from someone who has played other games of this genre. Most of the opinions I have seen are from people who think this game is a traditional RPG and complain about things that are a must have for any Looter. It is common to see people say they have completed everything there is to do in this game in 20 hours....proof they don't understand min maxing builds, the gear chase and the struggle to overpower the hardest difficulties in the game. All looter shooter games have rocky start because its easy to get them mixed up with games that are simply just a linear story or traditional RPG, so fans of those genres go in looking for an experience like Halo or Mass effect when this is more of an experience like Diablo.

My short opinion: There just isn't enough content. Not enough missions, not enough freeplay encounters. They promised us titans. I saw only 1 kind of titan so far. They said we would have a lot of activities and bounties ect. Where are they? Each faction gave about 2 bounties and that's it. They said, there would be a faction system. I wouldn't call 3 papers with 3 faction names written on it a faction system. Where is the "get good with one, and make the other hate you" system? Freeplay encounters are only have 3 type of missions? (Open the vault, defend the Strider and ...hell don't even remember the 3rd one) And if all challenges are done....where will we get coins from? BTW I got 2 masterwork items as soo i hit lvl 25 in a single mission. Lucky me. :D

Mostly because people are looking for reasons for it to fail. As someone whos been playing since the premier launch, I'll tell you that there is quite a grind towards the endgame. There are real big problems with mission checkpoint registers right now, and missions have the same kind of 'path' they follow, but I like it anyways. You're mostly playing for the experience of flying a badass suit of armor. Also, Kackis missed a few thing in his video, including an entire loot tier. White, green, blue, purple, masterwork, legendaries, in that order.

The people giving it a hard time think its a Looter Shooter when in fact its not. You look at its systems, both in game and the roadmap and it looks like a very very popular Dungeon Crawler, Diablo. Anthem is NOT mechanically a Looter Shooter. The game is fun to play, and is something quite special. But you have people who want to hate on anything associated with EA. You have Destiny and other FPS gamers who want to hate on the game that they see as a threat to their favorite game. You have people who played the game and don't understand that its NOT A SHOOTER. The bugs you mentioned, the audio bug for example has been fixed on the launch day(day one patch). Including other bugs user have been complaining about. They even fixed the so called masterwork exploit grind, and pretty damn quick (after public out cry).

If you didn't play division 1, ure in though situation lol. Division 2 has good implementations over d1. Open world it's more live, more enemies, mor activities, landmarks to recover from enemies, the side missions has purpose to evolve the settlements... It's more complete over d1. But anthem it's completely new. There few problems of course, but it's new, and will evolve. I definitely gonna buy both, but if I had budget just for one would be anthem, because it's new IP.

Good video. I have experienced the audio out issues a few times. I agree the game has optimization issues. For being in development for so long I expected more. I thought they could of somehow merged freeplay and mission based games. I never got why u had to be ported to hub, forge etc after contracts. Let the player explore the area they are in the maybe run into a side mission. To me that would of enhanced the immersion of the world.

Why is nobody talking about the percentage boosts on all the weapons, abilities, and other items? It makes a difference when a game is considered a loot type title. I had a Colossus in the demo that I purposely equipped a weapon and a ability that both combined increased Health drop rate by 18%. It really helped out on the Colossus since he doesn't have a shield so the constant Health drops really got me through some harder battles. That's just one example because the higher the Rarity the more bonuses. You can really min max your Javelin to fit your playstyle you're trying to achieve from what I can tell. Playing to each Javelin strength or weakness to have the increased Health drops, ammo drops, increase reload speed, increased Elemental damage, increased melee damage, increased cool down on abilities/boosters and ect ect. Yes the game seems it will be very repetitive just like in Diablo 3 and that gear grind. It's all about getting gear to jack up the difficulty level to get better gear to do the next difficulty level. At least that's how I'm looking at Anthem right now since the demo. Have not heard one reviewer talk about this yet. It does make a difference. Did they remove it? lol

To be honest, everyone should skip Anthem...for now. Almost all the missions are the same (repetitive in what you do). The weapons look the same. It gets boring quickly. For a looter shooter, there's nothing unique to really grind for. I was able to get a Legendary rifle and it felt and looked generic like all the other, aside from the color difference. Again, skip it for now until they are more variety in missions and weapons.

That's because the grind is for abilities and components at higher rarities. The guns are literally secondary. It's all about your build. And the missions arent lazy. It's a shooter, it's about shooting and killing things. Mission objectives are just a means to an end. Literally every single game in history is repetive, that's the loop. God of war your travel and then use your axe to kill things, then do a puzzle, then use your axe to kill things. The repetive argument is nonsense. What do people want in a looter shooter? After more and more info coming out I feel 100% in saying Anthem should NOT be called or compared to looter shooters but instead the genre that came before looter shooters, the Dungeon Crawler. And when you look at the biggest Dungeon Crawler, Diablo, Anthem is a very very VERY near 1 to 1 mirror of the Diablo style Dungeon Crawler.
