Those young men are so precious. You can tell they have been raised right. They sound so much like their dad and look so much like their mom. I would be very happy to own that vehicle- older ones are so much easier and for the most part cheaper to work on. And the guys can even cook! Precious family and great video. Stay safe and GOD bless

Getting rid of the oil cooler system is the best thing you can do to help the old girl. When they get old they cause a oil starvation at cold start. Eventually the bearings wear out and start knocking.

1973 or 1974 is when GM made the move from oil-based paints to water-based acrylic. They had teething problems there was lots of trucks that had paint peeling off the top side from being exposed to the Sun.

I always liked those old 2 door Blazers. I had a 04’ Trailblazer and that was one of my favorite vehicles. They’re just the right size, plenty roomy, solid engines, very reliable, and still get pretty decent gas mileage. With some good tires, you don’t even need 4WD for daily driving. They really did a great job designing these.

When there's a lip on your rotors like that.. as long as they are still thick (which yours seem to still be thick enough): You can have someone spin your rotor by hand right there on the truck while you hit them with a grinder and grind down that lip until it's flush. As long as someone is spinning it while you're grinding, it simulates being machined in a lathe and will have a very uniform result. I've done this on several old cars and many trucks and it has never caused me any issues. After that I just put on new pads (because they were really worn down) and called it done. Works great for budget updated brakes.

Using Teflon paste reminded me of a tip Id like to share with you. Teflon paste is the best anti seize I have ever found for keeping stainless steel threads from galling. It is the only thing Ive ever found that worked on stainless steel hardware on couplings that connect motors to gearboxes in cooling tower fans FWIW . Also works good on stainless marine hardware. Anyhow its a free tip so try it sometime if you have stainless steel hardware and hopefully it'll work for you too

Ba ha!! I found the same set of gloves with my '99 RHD Suburban here in Australia when I bought it 2nd hand a couple of years ago. It even had the full tool kit too!! Apparently they are not very common here. It's interesting to see the dash as the RHD model for Oz, the dash was made up of Blazer dash parts & the firewall as they where already being made in RHD (they only sold in Oz for 3 years so my K1500 350 Vortec is one of only 460 sold, with only 286 K2500 V8 Diesels) I love my old truck with the Blazer being a very close cousin. Great to see you guys at it!! 👍👍

There’s a tool that you can buy that hooks onto the latch and pin so that you can bend the sagging door back into place, much safer and more controlled than a floor jack or beating on it with a hammer. Almost professional!

7:02 *NO!* The problem with the door is worn bushings. How much slop is there in that door? Grab the end of it and lift up and down to feel the slop. A door with good bushings won't have any slop, and instead when you lift you'll rock the whole cab. Bushing & pin kits are ubiquitous, in stock at virtually any parts store. Even Amazon has a boatload of them. Price for a bushings & pin kit starts at around $12 and goes up to maybe $35. Simple, fairly easy installation, too.

The only time I have seen a 160 thermostat used is for marine use so there no chance of creating a “steam pocket” which drastically reducing the cooling effect of the coolant. To make a long story short the higher temperature differential between incoming fuel and actual burning temperature of your combustion chamber is what determines the efficiency of your motor(hp and fuel consumption)

That dash is in surprisingly good shape. I had a 1994 Silverado K1500 that I bought new in October of 1993. It had that same dash style and it fell apart (literally) by the time I sold it in July of 2015. If you ever get rid of that Blazer, keep the dash for resale; they're very hard to come by.
