Ingredients:
Sambar powder:
Red chillies - 350gms
Dhaniya - 350gms
Thuvar dhal - 100gms (1/2 cup)
Channa dhal - 50gms (1/4 cup)
Raw rice - 50gms (1/4 cup)
Pepper - 3 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric - 7 Pcs
Mel Podi:
Red chillies - 10 to 12
Dhaniya - 1/2 cup (heaped)
Channa dhal - 1/2 cup (level)
Fenugreek - 1 1/2tsp
Zeera - 2tsp

For the araichi vitta sambhar,she says do it fresh then and there.1teaspoon-Kadalai paruppu,1.5 teaspoon dhania and 4-5 chillies, fry them in little oil,grind with water and add it in the last. Lakshmi Siva-Bangalore

I often make your murugai keerai sambar ....it was agreat hit and everyones favourite in our house which was telecasted in jaya TV. 4to5 years back I hope you will also do it again in KZbin. Nan endha powderdan use panarayen Edhodu coriender l.g. kayam 1sp milagu add pani grind it. Endha ppodiya vazhaikai kathrikai vadhaka use it. Daily sambarla pota kooda nalla eruku.

Hi mam love ur recipes. I always keep this mel podi in store. A small variation I add roasted coconut and curry leaves to it.. this podi will be very good for brinjal , potato and vazahkai curry as we call it. But this has to be kept in fridge or else coconut will get spoit when kept for a week. Pls try and give me ur comments

Aunty,this is a small sharing of my patti's receipe for the sambhar powder 250gms-Chilli,500gms-Dhania,50gms-toor dhal,50gms-urad dhal,50gms-jeera,50gms-pepper,50gms-channa dhal=1kg,oru pidichapudi-rice,and 2cups dry karipatha leaves. this curry leaves gives excellent aroma to sambar.Pls try and let me know. Mam can you tell measurements in small quantities like tablespoon measurements as in abroad we have to powder only in mixie. Also can we replace turmuric with powder.
