It's not even a weird argument - because of the way that compression algorithms work, visually dark games, like horror games, will often (in theory) be less demanding on bandwidth, because a lower portion of the screen is changing each frame (since a lot of the pixels are just black from one frame to the next). This is why you can go from a stable stream when a Vtuber is talking in front of a static backdrop, to heavy buffering when they decide to play a fast moving game with lots of effects (like explosions) which cover the screen. Streams don't do so well with a lot of quickly changing dynamic imagery. This is all in theory of course. I don't know for a fact that yt compression works like this, but it feels to me like it does. It might not be the most impactful consideration though, as the bitrate at which the streamer chooses to encode their video is probably going to have more of an impact than how dynamic the image is.

There's also the consideration that Phasmophobia's graphics are, well, not exactly low-fi but not the pinnacle of rendering quality, whereas It Takes Two has quite detailed and high-quality graphics. If you're running your encoding, your vtuber model detection, and your game, all on the same card, they're all fighting for GPU resources. I know some streamers have multiple cards or a whole separate PC to split the load and make the setup more reliable.
