This song is so beautiful and sad, I love it to pieces. I know most people say it revolves around two childhood friends that grew apart and all but for some reason it relates to me in certain different ways. I can't help but think that these two personas are two parts of the same person. You find solace in a quiet room you’ve made for yourself and you seem to enjoy its peace. You begin to enjoy your own company. These personas exist to keep each other company especially when things in life go downhill.
One part of you leads the other into certain choices, wishing that these would grant you a form of happiness without knowing that these decisions would eventually kill the rest of you albeit slowly. But despite that, all you want is mere assurance from yourself. You pat yourself on your back and try to get rid of the insecurities that latch onto your shoulders… Yet they don't seem to go away, now do they?
They bring you down so bad that the things happening around you dig too deep into your bare feet, and what makes it sadder is that you feel too numb to even notice or feel the pain. You get too accustomed to the bile in your tongue that it eventually becomes tasteless to you. Nevertheless, by the end of the day, you ask yourself if your confidence was ever even there to begin with.
Was your HAPPINESS even there in the first place?
Does YOURSELF still exist?
Or rather…. was she even there to BEGIN with?
Was the “YOU” you’ve known always been just a mere figment of your imagination?
You realize that the person you’ve been living as had always been a stranger. You tried too hard to get to know them better; what makes them happy, what makes them laugh, what they want to be when they grow up, what their purpose in life is. But your effort becomes fruitless as you see that the plants you’ve been cultivating don’t seem to grow. The promises you’d given to yourself and those New Year’s resolutions all seem to shrink as your stubbornness grows. By then, you’d finally want to disappear into the darkness.
That pair of scissors suddenly look enticing to you.
After all… who would want to live as a liar?
But you’re afraid.
You find yourself in the same spiral. You drag the other part of you to tag along; as you run away like the coward you are….because you are unsure… unsure if you even have it in you to end things…. Because you know that it doesn’t solve anything. The fear of being alone consumes you and you just want someone to keep an eye on you̶ to know if someone actually cares. And yet you thirst for your own love more than anything. Ironically, despite this, you seem to drift further away. Unreachable… until the quiet room you used to have solace in becomes a place you would eventually despise.

The cover was amazing and you're interpretation is beautifully tragic. Maybe its how its so relatable to so many. Everyone at some point is seeking their own approval and just giving in to the ebbs and flows of the day to day routine kills us, but we lack the confidence in ourselves to take a chance and pursue better. This is so beautiful, I can't stop listening to this!! It's so rare to see Vocaloid covers, or sometimes even originals, these days that will send tears to your eyes, and you just did it! Don't worry, it's a good thing lolol. And I love your interpretation. Many of us have felt that way, and many are still going through it.
